Request from @unbalan-ced for a kidnapped reader who gets panic attacks after but doesn't want to tell Matt. Steven Grant is the other love of my life now so he's in this as well, kind of a mix of show Steven with the background plot of Marc in the current run of comics. Hope you guys enjoy!

Matt is never going to let you hear the end of this. Every three or four months you have a talk that boils to: just because you lead a dangerous life and I'm dating you, doesn't give you control over my life. That talk is usually followed by you begging him to talk to you because the fix to your repeated quarrels really is that simple. It's been four days since your last talk of the sort. If you weren't worried about your life and keeping all appendages, soft tissue, and bones where they should be, the timing of this would be funny. But you are worried about all of that. The men who took you haven't done anything except tie you to this chair and lock you in the room, but you assume worse is on its way.

They've kept you in the dark— both in a physical sense and an informational one— for what must be hours now. At some point, your stomach started growling, but it has served more as a time marker than anything else. The anxiety and fear keep hunger a far-off problem, replacing it with nausea the longer you're here. You can already feel the skin of your wrists chafing with how much you've been struggling against the zip ties. You start to wonder if it would be better if they would come in and start beating you... or doing whatever they were planning on instead of this suspense. The only thing that brings you comfort is the knowledge that the longer they keep you here, the more time Matt has to notice you're missing and come find you. You have to focus on that.

Tied down in the dark like this, it's too easy for your mind to wander. For the events of earlier to replay again and again in your mind. Figures coming out of nowhere, the moment of panic when you realized they were advancing on you before they shoved you in a car and blindfolded you. Large hands gripping your arms. Being pushed and shoved and pulled until they threw you onto this metal chair. More hands— the same hands? securing your wrists to the back legs of the chair before slamming the door and leaving you to wonder what would happen to you. Somewhere in that nightmare highlight reel, you hear a key in the door. That's happening now. The pit in your stomach grows deeper as you realize you won't be lucky enough for Matt to find you before they start in on you.

You hear the door open and click shut, then footsteps and a light switch before light bleeds into your vision from behind the blindfold. More footsteps coming toward you now, then your blindfold is removed. When you blink up at the man, he smiles.

"Sorry about the theatrics, how are you doing?" His tone addresses you like you're an acquaintance in line in front of him at the grocery store.

"I—" What? You know the room is empty except for the two of you but you can't help looking around for anyone else he could possibly be talking to. "How would you feel if a group of strange men took you to an unknown location and locked you in a dark room for hours?"

"I'd be pissed off." He's still too calm.

It's off-putting enough that you start to wonder if it would be better if he got straight to the interrogation. You raise a brow, in an effort to remain glib. "There you go."

He nods, mulling over your answer for longer than you feel is necessary. "I'm sorry we had to bring you here. We have no issue with you, no desire to cause you harm."

The pit in your stomach grows at that. You suspected that this was about Matt, but the way this is going is as good as confirmation. If this was random, at least... you don't know. At least it would have a start and an end, then you could move forward and deal with whatever trauma this brought. But they know about Matt. When you don't talk, they're going to beat you until he comes for you, then they'll have both of you.
