I knew that Jughead had a lot going on at the moment, that's why I didn't want to bother him. Maybe I should have — planning romantic things was more his thing. But I wouldn't want to talk to him about those foolish things when he was dealing with real problems. I didn't want to annoy him with a little thing like proposing to Veronica.

Proposing.

After Betty and Jughead have been through it all, I have been thinking more about it. It's not like I felt ready for it when the two were marrying. However, now things have changed and we've grown up more. I was hoping that she would agree — say 'yes'. I know that we had started as a physical thing but this wasn't anymore — I love her with my whole heart.

To be honest, at the start I was really overwhelmed with everything. When I was at the jewelry store, to get a ring, I cried when I got asked what her ring size was and didn't know which one.

I tried to propose a month ago already. That didn't work out quite well. I planned to bake cupcakes and then spell out 'Will you marry me?' with buttercream but that ended up almost burning down the kitchen — so I changed my plan. Instead I decided to do something Archie-like. I sat myself down on the floor with my guitar and a notebook and tried to write everything down that I had wanted to tell her for ages. I wrote a damn song to ask her to marry me. I spend two weeks after hours at the gym (when there weren't any children or teenagers training there, of course), just to get the lyrics. Another week for the melody. It needed to be perfect.

I sighed shaky, putting down my guitar. Veronica looked at me with glassy eyes and when she didn't want to say anything, I put the guitar next to me before getting down on one knee in front of her.

"In case you haven't noticed: I'm asking you to marry me. I love you so much and I couldn't imagine my life without you anymore — I don't even want to. I want to spend every day with you until I don't breathe anymore, Veronica Cecilia Luna Lodge, if you want that too. Will you do me the honor and marry me?"

"Of course" She laughed, getting down on the ground as well to cup my face and kiss me. During that time, I reached in my jacket pocket and got out a little box, opening it to show a slim silver ring, with a dark blue sapphire encircled in a small heart.

"I hope you like it. I- I didn't know which one to get you, there were so many of them"

"Oh Archiekins! I love you so much" I smiled and put the ring on her ring finger before hugging her.

"And there I thought, I was the one to surprise you" Veronica said, still engulfed in the hug. I pulled away, looking at her confused.

"What? Why?"

"I'm kind of overdue... I haven't made a test yet but there's the slight possibility that... you know..." She smiled unsure and I blinked.

"Oh. Period overdue, right?" She nodded, which resulted in another hug.

"You said yes to my proposal and there is a possibility that you're pregnant. This day couldn't be any better, Ronni"

Maybe that's why I only saw Betty's call two hours later. When I did, I immediately called her back, especially once I saw that she had texted me as well.
