Hello everyone, back again with a topic that I too struggle with. Understanding the fact that when you are not okay it is okay to feel that way and that you should not punish yourself for it. Easier said than done, trust me I know. At some point we all need to realize that you can't be happy every single day when you come across things or people that trigger you. Which is another topic that we will dive into another day.
It is possible that if one thing triggers you, you shut down for a whole week maybe. And you know what, that is okay. You do not need to tell yourself that it is stupid to feel that way or maybe because you feel like its not a big deal that you do not need to feel that way. But you do not need to. When you suffer from depression or anxiety or any other mental illness, sometimes you are mean to yourself for being sad all the time or not being okay. You are not a robot. Feel the emotion that you are feeling. Tell yourself "yes I feel sad, it is okay. You will be okay and I will deal with it slowly". Say it out loud if you have to. And if you ever feel like that is not working. Breakdown and cry. Just cry. Deal with it in a less harmful way. You can harm yourself by telling yourself you do not need to feel that certain emotion and you need to unlearn that.
