Google definition:

A fear of abandonment presents itself in people who seem like "people pleasers" or need continuous reassurance that they are loved. There is also a consistent anxiety that occurs with abandonment issues. Common signs of abandonment issues include: Giving too much or being overly eager to please.

Fear of abandonment is caused by a lot of factors. Quite a lot of people struggle with it. One of the causes could be that maybe a parent or a close figure in your life abandoned you when you were young or constantly left you in times of need for long periods of time.

This can cause issues growing up because you always want to please everyone around you just so that they won't leave. Now this is very dangerous. But again its not really your fault for thinking that you have to be a certain way or do certain things to be loved. The anxiety that comes with being left alone is traumatizing.

Having abandonment issues is very hard to deal with. The one thing you are afraid ends up happening because of all these changes you make just for certain people to leave you. So your brain can't process that. You feel lonely and extremely depressed after that. I just want to say that you are not alone.
