One Rainy Night

She was jealous.

Oh god, she was beyond that.

It would've been fine, she wouldn't have minded, but she didn't even have any right to be... or did she?

It has been a few months since Leon and Reese decided to take their friendship to another level: Friends with benefits, 0 attachments.

It was the deal they had after years of friendship and both of them being single for years, no time for that they say, so it was a win-win situation. They get to satisfy their needs and there won't be any strings attached.

That was Leon's mistake. She thought it won't harm anyone but actually, there was so much more at stake. She knew Reese like she was her other half even before and now that she has experienced waking up next to Reese, now that she has experienced sleeping cuddled to her, she wants nothing more than to really make her her other half.

But fear was taking over her. She knew way before that Reese felt something for her, she wasn't blind and it was so obvious, but she had the nerve to ignore it and now, she's too late. It's been days since Reese last talked to her. She has tried to call, message her or even go to her office but she just got ignored.

"Sino ba yung lalaking yun ha? maka dikit kay Reese kala mo nanay eh" She answered in a low tone, chugging her beer and looking away.

"Selos ka teh?" Leila snickered beside her.

"Ay di ka aware? Tagal nang pumoporma kay Reese yan. Lagi rejected kaso mukhang pagbibigyan na ni Reese oh" with what Trilly said, Leon turned to them again and saw the man trying to pull Reese closer by the waist.

And well, soon enough a bee line was made towards their direction, and Leon was suddenly dragging Reese out of the party.

"Leon, ano ba?" Reese said trying to get out of her hold.

"You're drunk and that man's making a move. Uuwi na tayo."

"It's a party! Of course I'll be drunk" Still trying to hold her feet to the ground.

"Atsaka ano naman? Let him, or anyone make a move. I'm not committed to anyone as far as I know"

Well that was a little bit of a blow to Leon.

"Reese, Isa. Wag ka na makulit, Ihahatid na kita."

"Ayoko pa nga Leon"

"Wag na makulit. Sakay." She said with her usual authoritative voice and with that Reese couldn't do anything but to follow.

Reese was silent the whole ride home. Leon would ask her how she is or if she wants any food at times but all she got was silence. They reached Leon'a home with the rain threatening to pour.

"Why are we here? akala ko ba iuuwi mo na ko?" Reese answered crossing her arm.

"Ano tawag ng laman na naman ba?"

Leon was taken aback by what Reese said, she wasn't offended, it was just... was Reese just doing this for her sake?

"I– let's talk? please?"

"We have nothing to talk about. Uuwi na ko." Reese answered, getting off the car.

Leon quickly followed her out and grabbed her by the wrist.
