22: Dancing With You

Y/N was sitting in the living room wrapped in a fluffy baby blue Comforter. Jimin and Taehyung were wrapped around both her sides while Jungkook laid his head on his lap. The makes gave death glares to Yoongi and Jin who had smug smiles plastered on their face. "It was my day you know!" Whined Jungkook. Yoongi just shrugged. "How is the pain by the way?" Namjoon asked. Y/N wrapped herself more. "It is not there. But it was so bad. This time was worse than the last few" she said. "The broken bond pain is supposed to drive the mate who lives insane to the point they kill themselves or die," said Namjoon. "I can't imagine the times you dealt with it alone." He said. "I used to lie on the bed and cry out. Nothing else" said Y/N. "If I knew water was supposed to help, I'd have done that long back," she said with a yawn. "Sleep. We'd wake you up when the time comes to go to the office" said Taehyung making her lie her head down on his shoulder. Y/N was lulled to deep sleep. "Look!" Jimin whispered. He pointed to the place below Y/N's right ear. There, was an inked tattoo of a moon with two stars on either side. "The mating mark," said Taehyung with surprise. His eyes widened. He looked at the place where there was her previous mating mark. It was gone. "What if- what if she gets angry with us?" Said Jin in a shaky voice. "The mark disappeared," he said. "But we are her mates too," said Jungkook. "She wanted time to remember?" Hoseok asked after being silent the whole time. Y/N woke up in the commotion. "What's wrong guys?" She asked sleepily. The boys looked at each other. "Your Mating mark, it's gone," said Taehyung in a grim tone. "Ahh. I saw it in the morning" said Y/N. "I was sad at first, then realized that Jae wouldn't have wanted me to be sad or in pain. Also, I love you guys" she said and slowly drifted to sleep laying on Taehyung's shoulder again.

Getting out of the car in the office parking lot, Y/N sighed. She was wearing a dark blue A-line skirt paired with a white frilled button-up. Smiling she held her hand to the opened car door and out came Hoseok. He was wearing dark green cargo pants, a white t-shirt and a black jacket. His smile made him look like literal sunshine.
Walking with Jin and Hoseok past the lobby, Y/N entered the building. A woman from a department in the company approached Y/N and bowed. The four of them walked while the woman was explaining something to Y/N. Entering her cabin Y/N smiled and looked at the woman. "I understand." She said. "Leave the file here, I'll check it once and then ask Jin to finalize the necessities," she said. The woman bowed and left. Y/N sat on her chair while Hoseok looked around amazed by the art and architecture of the place. He was majoring in architecture, so every bit of unique design intrigued him.
Y/N asked him to sit on the sofa in her cabin. Hoseok nodded and immediately fished out a sketchbook. Suddenly there was a knock at her door. "Come in," Y/N said flipping through a document. A male who was hired a few days earlier to assist Jin was standing there. "Yes?" Y/N asked surprised to see him. "Umm. Hyung went to do some work in the legal department so I came to inform you. There is a woman outside who wants to meet you but doesn't have any earlier appointment" he said nervous and fidgeting with his fingers. Y/N nodded. "Stay here. Sit on the sofa and wait for me" she said and patted his head.
Exciting the office, Y/N was face to face with her nemesis. "Jesus, it must be a bad day since you showed up," she said crossing her arms. The woman scoffed. "I am here to make a deal with you," she said. Y/N sighed. "Let's hear it. Though I am sure it would disappoint me, then again, nothing is more of a disappointment than your existence" she said flicking her nails. She marched back in. Before getting in she looked at the woman. "You come inside. That rodent of a daughter of yours stays outside" saying that she got into her office. "Yahh!!" She could faintly hear Suzy shout. Entering her cabin she turned towards the new hire. "Take a random file and sit on the sofa. Keep your recorder on always." The guy nodded confused but followed her orders.
After a few minutes of bickering with her daughter, Janet came inside. Sitting on the chair opposite her, she looked around. "Why are they here?" She asked looking at Hosek and the new guy. "I called them to show something until you decided to show up. So. What is the deal?" Y/N asked while fiddling with a pen. Janet crossed her arms. "I would like to give up my part of the shares in the Hybrid Rescue Facility," she said. Y/N raised her brow. "And what is the catch?" She asked. "You have a few collections of pure blood hybrids. I would like you to give up the bear and the tiger hybrid" she said resting her arms on the table. "And what if I refuse?" Y/N asked. "I hold the maximum shares in this company. I can send it to financial ruins easily" Janet said with a smirk. "Is that a threat Ms Kim I hear?" Y/N said reigning surprise. Janet was about to say something but Y/N cut her off. "Sike!" Y/N said and laughed. "Anyways. I am not going forward with this deal. Do you want to send me to financial ruins? How? Termination of your contract with the company? Go ahead. I was wondering how to get rid of you anyway. A one-time financial hit is more acceptable for me than having you dictate my workplace" Y/N said looking at Janet dead in the eye. Janet was fuming. "If you think I am kidding then you are wrong! I'll see through with the threat!!" Janet said agitatedly. "So you do accept you are threatening me. You know I could have you arrested for coercion. intimidation using wrongful usage of power and an attempt to extort living beings through the exchange of money" Y/N said bored. Janet was getting more and more agitated. "You are playing with fire Y/N!" She said. "I started to do that the moment you took my family away," Y/N said calmly. Janet was beyond furious at this point. She stormed out of the cabin. Y/N sighed and followed her outside.
Outside she saw Suzy attempting to flirt with Jin. On seeing Y/N Jin came to her. "You have to get between every one of my playthings do you!" Said, Suzy mildly annoyed. "And you have to show your rodent looking face in front of me even when I told you not to didn't I?" Y/N said holding Jin's hand. "Ugh! I was having fun and you had to ruin it!" Suzy said crossing her arms. "You know just when I think you can't get any dumber, you prove me wrong," Y/N said leading Jin to her cabin. Shutting the door to her cabin Y/N huffed. "I despise that girl. Her mere existence makes me want to throw up!" Jin hugged her from behind and kissed her neck. "Don't worry sweet cheeks. Pondering over useless people is like inviting a headache. And we don't want your pretty little head to ache!" Saying that he let a hum. Suddenly, Y/N was pulled away. Hoseok stood there hugging her. "Mine for today!" He growled. Jin scoffed. "She is all of ours" Y/N remembered something and looked towards the new hire sitting dumbfounded. "What's going on. Who of you are boss-nim's boyfriend?" He asked. "There are 7 who share her," Hoseok said. The boy's mouth fell open. "Well... My sister shares 4 boyfriends. Who am I judge" he said and shrugged. Y/N giggled.
Going back home, Y/N asked Soobin to bring her to a popular restaurant. "Jin, I'll bring all of you another day. Can I just take Hoseok today?" She asked. Jin nodded with a pout. "I'll bring food so no need to cook." She said. "Okay," Jin said. Getting out she waved the boys off.
Entering the restaurant she ordered a table for two. The waitress took them to a private cabin decorated beautifully with cherry blossoms and red ribbons. "What do you wanna have?" Y/N asked Hoseok. "I have never come to a place like this. I don't know what to eat" Hoseok said scratching his long bunny ears. "Hmm.." Y/N pondered and promised herself internally to take the boys out to good places more. "How about Kkotgetang, rice and samgetang? With kimchi?" Y/N asked. Hoseok nodded eagerly.
Placing the order, Y/N asked the waitress to play some nice music. Y/N and Hoseok we're talking about various music artists and random things when Slow Dancing In the Dark by Joji started to play. "Hey! I love this song!" Y/N said standing up. She offered Hoseok a hand and said, "wanna dance handsome sir?" Hoseok giggled flustered and stood up. "Sure M'lady," he said. Both of them swayed to the tune, slowly, falling into the rhythm.

As if the time had halted for a fleeting while, the world had stopped spinning for an ephemeral moment, and only the two existed, in the embrace of each other. Arms on other shoulders and waist, looking deeply into each other's eyes, downing in the abyss. Slowly they came toward each other. Faces a breath apart, and slowly like the music their lips touched.

Devouring each other's lips, they melted into the embrace. The world stood still, only the two hearts beating, in a rhythm that completed each other's gaps. The half-beat gaps between each heartbeat. Creating music of their own.
They were interrupted by the knocking of the waitress. They separated, a dazed smile dancing on their face. Sitting down Y/N said, "Come in,". As the evening went on, they are and laughed and talked to their heart's content, oblivious, to the hidden person, clicking their photographs.
