6: That Certain Someone

Narrators Pov
Josie and Zoe had fallen sleep after talking about the date for hours. Zoe's phone starts slightly vibrating. This wakes up Josie and she starts look around. When the phone starts ringing, she quickly picks it up and turns off the ringer so it doesn't wake up Zoe. She sees that it says 'My Other Half 🤍' and quickly answers.

"Hope?"

"Oh uh, hi Josie. Where are you and Zoe and why isn't she answering my text?"

"We fell asleep in the library and you know how she's a deep sleeper-"

"Ok." And with that Hope hangs up the phone. Josie's super confused but puts the phone into her lap.

A few minutes pass and Josie hears the library doors open and a shadow walking towards them. She's gets startled and starts siphoning from Zoe which makes her shift but she doesn't wake up. The shadow gets closer and closer until it's in Josies eye view.

"Jesus christ, Hope." Josie says holding her heart.

"Did i scare you? I'm sorry, i didn't mean too." She kneels down and looks at Zoe. "Come on you big baby" She picks Zoe up like it's nothing and starts walking.

"You coming, Jo?" Josie smiles and starts walking behind her.

They walk in complete silence until they get to Hopes room. She turns to Josie and says "Wait here, i'll be right back" and walks into her room and closes the door.

About 30 seconds later, she comes out and locks the door. She grabs Josies hand and starts walking towards the kitchen. Josie just mindlessly follows.

"Up for a PB & J? I know you missed dinner."

"Sure i could go for one. Pretty hungry actually."

"Great, because i can't reach the jars" Hope immediately turns to get the bread so Josie doesn't see how her face just turned red.

Josie chuckles and grabs the jars from the shelf. "The almighty Hope Andrea Mikaelson couldn't reach the jars? Aw how adorable."

"Yeah yeah whatever. You can make your own sandwich if you wanna tease me miss Josette."

"Oh no no, i'm good. You got that." They laugh then it dies down after a little bit.

"Soooo.., what were you and Zoe talking about for all those hours?" This makes Josie freeze for a millisecond but then she composes herself.

"Oh uhm, Zoe was telling me about how she's in love with Lizzie, even though i already knew that and how she told you the other night."

"Ahh yeah. She came into the room crying and everything, i feel bad. She's liked Lizzie for a while. I feel like Lizzie feels the same way but hasn't realized yet, you know?"

"That makes sense. We'll just have to see how this plays out."

"Yeah. Anything else you guys talked about?"

Josie freezes once again and this time Hope walks over to her to see what's wrong.

"Hey, you ok?" Hope looks her right in her eyes and Josie melts into her touch.

"Yeah, yeah. Im alright." Josie hops onto the counter and Hope stands in front of her. "We were talking about how i was going to ask a certain someone on a date."

All of a sudden, Hopes face falls and she looks away from Josies eyes. Josie then grabs her hand, pulls her between her legs and puts her other hand on Hopes cheek.

"You are that certain someone. You will always be that certain someone." Hope finally looks back into her eyes and smiles.

"Well as that certain someone... i would love to go on a date with the one and only Josette Olivia Saltzman." Josie smiles and they go back to staring at each other.

Hope puts her free hand on Josies thigh and goes on her tippy toes to kiss her. Once they connected lips, Josie bent a little so Hope can get off her tippy toes. Josie then lets go of Hopes hand and puts it on her cheek and that lets Hopes hand snake around her lower back.

They finally break apart due to them running out of air and put their foreheads together and smile. Then Josies stomach growls. They start laughing and Hope kisses her one more time before walking back the the unmade sandwich.

Josie jumps off the counter and goes to stand next to her. Hope smiles and continues making their food.

Once they finish, they start walking hand in hand towards their rooms but don't say a word. They reach their doors and turn to each other.

"Goodnight Hopey." Josie begins walking off but Hope is still holding on to her hand.

"Wait," Hope gets on her tippy toes, once again, and kisses Josie on the forehead. "now, goodnight." Hope kisses Josies hand before unlocking her door and disappearing inside.

Josie stands there stunned but then walks into her room. She's quiet because Lizzie is sleeping, or that's what she thinks. Josie changes and gets into bed but before she can lay down...

"Oh hello there, Josette." Josie almost falls out the bed.

"What is wrong with you, Lizzie. Jeez"

"No comment. Now, what took you so long to come back? What were you doing with Zoe? Where did you guys go? I need to know now."

"Calm down, Lizzie. We went to our spot in the library, we were talking about my date with Hope and- never mind. Then we fell asleep. Hope came and got Zoe, then we went to eat."

"Hmmmm.. ok. Goodnight"

"Goodnight?"

'Not even gonna ask about the date with Hope? Weird.. very weird.' Josie thought.
