9: Shopping

Narrator Pov
Hope never went to sleep. She actually just stared at the ceiling for who knows how long. Hope realized it's harder to sleep without Josie by her side. So what does she do? Go see if Josie is still up.

She doesn't bother being quiet getting up from her bed knowing Zoe is the a very heavy sleeper. She does slowly close her door as she walks out though since it is past curfew.

Hope pulls out her phone to text Josie so she doesn't have to knock.

h: jo you still up?

j: hope i thought i told you goodnight.

h: ik ik but i couldn't sleep

j: you want me to come over?

h: i'm actually outside your door lol

Josie doesn't answer but a few seconds later the door opens.

"I didn't wake you did i?"

"No you didn't. I was still reading. Lizzie surprisingly didn't ramble about this morning."

"Speaking of.. i owe you twenty bucks, Ms. Saltzman."

"You sure do, Ms. Mikaelson. Come on, let's go lay down.. again."

Josie 'drags' Hope across the hall back to her room so they can lay in her bed. Josie climbs into bed first and Hope follows.

"Sleepy time Hopey.

"Ughhh fine."

Josie guides Hopes head to lay on her chest. Hope doesn't resist at all. Once Hope is comfortable, Josie starts playing with her hair.

The combination of Josie playing with her hair, the rise and fall of her chest, and the scent of vanilla coming from the girl she loves, Hope almost instantly falls asleep.

Josie notices a pattern in Hope breathing and can tell she's asleep. She whispers,

"Goodnight, Hopey." and kisses the top of her head.

Soon morning arrives and there's a knock at the door. It only wakes up Hope somehow. She checks her phone to see it's only 6 am, an hour before she has to get up. She slowly moves off of Josie trying not to wake her. She goes to open the door and Lizzie is on the other side.

"Morning Hope." She walks past Hope to go sit at the desk next to Zoe's bed. Hope still being half sleep barely registered Lizzie's words.

"Uh morning?"

"My mom wants to talk to you in the office."

"Alright. Can you tell Josie where i went so she doesn't worry?"

"Yeah."

Hope throws on a salvatore hoodie then heads over to the office. When she gets there she knocks before getting the word to go in.

"Good morning Hope."

"Good morning Caroline. Lizzie said you needed me?"

"Yes. I saw that you and the girls skipped all day yesterday. I just wanted to know why, if you want to say of course."

"Oh uhm, it's not really my story to tell. Zoe could tell you if she wants. But she was upset and i wanted to comfort her and the twins being her best friends wanted to, too."

"Alright thank you, Hope. I'll talk to Zoe later. You can go back to your room now." With a smile to Caroline and a receiving one back, Hope goes back to her room.

When Hope gets back to her room she sees that Josie is still sleep and Lizzie ended up sleeping on top of Zoe.

"Morning Hope."
