I, for one, like to read other books and adapt their ideas and place the adapted idea somewhere in my story, even if that means editing (check out that chapter). You need to add plot twists to keep drama in the story and keep people interested. Plot twists can be inspired by books, the internet, films, maybe even games. Keep on the lookout for plot twists, even add drama from your own life, or the lives of others!
Don't worry if you find plot twists hard, I do too, they are sometimes very difficult to write and also it can be difficult to not let all the information out at once. Just remember, you need to keep the reader INTERESTED, which means you need a build up to keep them in suspense. If you let out your plot twist instantly (or the best part of the story) you ruin the ENTIRE thing.
Also - try not to do clichés, I know it's hard but a book isn't interesting if you can just predict what's going to happen.
