A few hours after Christopher was taken out of the basement and into Raelene's room, she brought a tray of food and a jug of water for when he'd wake up. She looked out of the window to watch for activity, rubbing the back of Christopher's head.
While she thought about the things she had heard Madelia and Hedeon say about Christopher, movement occurred in the room. She alerted quickly, looking to her bed, where Christopher lie. He was opening his eyes, or eye more so, and had been staring at the floor. He knew where he was, and he didn't mind that he was there. He knew due to the scent of the room more than the appearance.
Raelene immediately leaned down, pressing a very gentle kiss to his forehead. He put his hand over hers softly, and even gave her a smile. Lip-closed, but a smile, nonetheless. Raelene smiled back, twirling his hair that fanned out nicely behind him along the pillow. His eyelids were fluttering, but he eventually managed to keep his right eye open as he fully woke up. Then he carefully started sitting up, showing the side of his face was a bit red.
"Good afternoon." Raelene greeted, cupping Christopher's cheek. "That's a very pretty necklace." She noticed as she looked at his neck. "How are you feeling from the burnout? You seem to be recovering a bit better than last time." She said as she grabbed a hairbrush and moved behind him. He didn't answer. He could barely register her words.
She started to brush his hair, being very gentle when loosening the knots. As she brushed near the points of his ears, she was very cautious, not wanting to scratch him by accident. He closed his eyes, his chest rising and falling much more evenly as he breathed. Raelene's touch calmed him and regulated his heartrate, which both immediately noticed.
And they appeared quite delighted about it. She stroked his cheek, brushing under his hair. Once his hair was fully brushed, she started to style it. It was simple, but still nice looking. Half-up, half-down, and the half-up part was tied into a low ponytail, where Raelene used one of her hairclips to decorate his hair tie. She tucked stray strands behind his ears, one of her hands rubbing his back.
"Do I look decent?" He asked quietly, turning his head to look at her. Raelene noticed his expression wasn't cold. He looked completely miserable, which many had mistaken for coldness.
"Much more than just decent. You look stunning." She responded, running her index finger along the point of his ear, laughing quietly as he shivered slightly. "You're so cute." She commented, continuing to rub his back, smiling as he completely relaxed. He rolled back his shoulders, leaning forward a bit so she could have an easier time.
"I'm not." He said tiredly, but his tone indicated he wasn't sure if his words were true. Because of how many times Raelene had called him cute, he was questioning if it was a fact. "Am I?" He asked as she continued rubbing and caressing his back and waist. A habit she developed was to hold him by the waist whenever he was in her vicinity.
She'd put her hands to his body and pull him to her. He liked it because she had a firm hold on him, and it made him feel like no one could get to him. Raelene did it just to be able to touch him.
"Yes, you are." Raelene said bluntly. Christopher gave her an expression that practically screamed 'prove it then'. So, Raelene did with a smirk. "You have large, almond eyes that glow, is a baby blue colour, and that have these long, fluttery eyelashes. You have nice, plump, and pink lips that have a stunning smile underneath. You have a small nose with a few little freckles, and you have a heart shaped one that sits under your right eye. You have smooth, clear, and soft skin. You have gorgeous, thick, and amazingly black hair that is very long. You also have a laugh that is music to the ears, and your pearly whites make the stars jealous when you smile." She named just a few things, amused when he got embarrassed, and his cheeks flushed red. "When you get flustered, your cheeks and ears go pink, and you cover your face."
