Wanda woke up confused when she realizes Natasha wasn't with her as she promised. She suddenly questions the last memory she has with her. Was it all a dream? The beautiful conversation she had with the redhead was becoming a lot more hazy and the scenario that happened outside Natasha's apartment building was a lot clearer to her. Tears pooled her eyes after remembering what happened and her physical pain meant nothing when she started thinking that the deep and meaningful conversation she shared with the redhead was all a dream.
Her heart rate was going faster as the machine's beeping picked up the pace. She was suddenly feeling anxious because of the thoughts that were overcrowding her fragile brain. The sudden change on the brunette's vitals alerted the nurses station close to her hospital room which made one of them rush to her.
"Hello, Ms. Maximoff. Are you okay? What are you feeling?" the nurse checked while she checks the status shown on the machines.
"Wh-where is she?" Wanda immediately asks.
"Who? Your company? Relax, miss. She will be right back. She just had to quickly run to get some food downstairs." the nurse assured her. This slows down the beeping sounds coming from the machines right away and relaxes the brunette who lets out a sigh of relief, placing her head back down on her pillow.
When the nurse made sure that she's going to be fine, she left the room and a few minutes later, the redhead finally entered who had worry written in her eyes since they told her about what happened to the younger woman during her absence. She hurriedly sets the small brown paper bag she was holding down and tends to the brunette who already has tears in her eyes.
"Fuck. Wanda, I am so sorry." she sniffles.
"Y-you promised me that you would be here when I wake up." Wanda sobs.
"I know, my angel and I am sorry. I had to run really quick to the convinience store. I promise, I'll never leave again." she assures the brunette as she brushes the tears off her eyes using her thumb.
"You swear?"
"I swear in my life, angel. I'll be here."

Three months later, when Wanda has fully recovered and has gone back to work along with Natasha, they both figured out their issues and finally had progress in their current relationship. Both of them didn't want to rush each other after everything that happened so they still didn't put any sort of label to whatever it is they have. They simply call it... dating. Something simple. The stage where they get to know each other more.
Natasha finally had the courage to tell Wanda about her past and explained why it has led her to become the guarded person she's very much known for today. The brunette also told her all about the struggles she's experienced. Why her family is the main cause of her anxiety and depression. Not only because of the pressure they were putting her in but the everyday pain she experienced when she used to live with them in one roof. Constant arguments and yelling. Everyday there's a new plate, vase or glass that's being shattered because of her father's temper. She told her about the time when her twin brother left them a few years ago and never came back. Not even for her. And how her father turns into a monster when he's intoxicated and that it's an everyday occurrence because he's a drunk.
They both used all of these pain they experienced in their past to identify what they need from each other and how they can help each other rather than falling apart. They mended all of the pieces that were scattered and now, they have become stronger.
Natasha is happier and has been smiling a lot more. Not just to Wanda but to everyone else in the office which was shocking a lot of people she converses with. She has gotten a little closer to Sharon since she's Wanda's best friend. And Wanda became a lot more responsible and is no longer as reckless as she was a few months ago. Her habit of smoking has officially stopped since the accident and she only drinks if she goes out with Sharon and Natasha.
