My father had departed on a ship early in the morning to get to a tribal meeting.

This gave me the perfect chance to figure out what I was going to do about... Well I had a lot of problems that needed fixing.

Around two hours ago, Stoick said goodbye and sailed off. I only have around three days at the longest, so I had to get going immediately.

~~~
I was in the cove packing some of my things when I heard Astrid's familiar voice.
"Are you leaving?" She sounded worried, almost sad when she climbed in to see me packing up.
I turned around with a heavy sigh. Her face showed almost as much emotion as her voice had sounded.
"Yes, I need to go home for a few days." I said, turning around to continue what I was doing.
"We're you even going to tell me?" She asked, walking up behind me.
"Uhh... maybe..." I muttered. She punched me really hard.
"OW!" I exclaimed. Toothless perked up with a low growl.
"I'm okay bud." I said, calming him down.
I turned around to face Astrid. She had a very angry expression.
"You didn't let me explain." I said.
She crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at me. "No need. I can see what's happening."
I sighed and explained anyway. "I'm not leaving leaving, Astrid. I just needed to go back, mostly for Toothless."
She let her arms drop to her sides.
"He has a lot of other friends there." I said. Toothless grunted.
"You could have just said that!" Astrid said, hitting me again, just not as hard.
"If only I didn't have someone punching me before I got the chance to." I muttered sarcastically.
Then I turned around and laughed. "Can we go five minutes without a punch? For the sake of my arm?"
Astrid was trying not to smile but it got the best of her and she let out a little laugh.
"Or maybe you could punch my other arm, like, every other time?" I chuckled.
"Only if you're good." She said in a mocking tone. I shook my head and laughed a little.
Toothless bellowed and I turned around and sat on his back. "We'll be back before you know it." I said, looking at Astrid.
She hesitated then grabbed my arm and pulled me down into a quick kiss.
"You better be." She said quietly.
I stared at her in shock for a moment before Toothless leapt into the sky with a roar and flew away.
~~~

Me and Toothless had been flying for a while now.

"I don't remember it being this far away." I groaned impatiently.

Toothless warbled his agreement.

After a few more minutes of flying, I could see the giant spikes of ice up ahead.

Finally!

Toothless landed and I jumped off, flipping up my mask.

I was greeted by tons of different dragons, all growling, clicking, and roaring.

A familiar Stormcutter purred and walked over to me.

"Hello, Cloudjumper." I smiled and patted his head, earning a friendly nudge.

I made my way to an ice cave I had been using as a room before. Toothless followed me in, growling at the baby dragon biting his tail.

"You be nice, Toothless." I said, walking over to grab the baby.

"Well hello." I smiled, carrying the baby out of the cave. It squeaked at me and flew off.

"Alright bud," I turned around, "You wanna go tell them all?" I gestured to the dragons outside.

Toothless grunted sadly. I walked over to him and knelt in front of him.

"I know bud, I know."

I had a lot of problems back on Berk. But when I was here with the dragons, I was free from everything and everyone.

Maybe we could stay. I thought.

I remembered how sad Astrid was when I had left.

"I promised her we'd be back." I rubbed his head. He purred happily when he thought of Astrid.

"Go on, go tell the other dragons." I nudged him. He grumbled and jumped out of the cave.

I looked around the room, trying to find something I might need to take with me.

Berk has all this stuff and more. I thought, turning around.

I started walking out when I heard Toothless roar, followed by the many roars of a thousand other dragons.

When Toothless saw me, he jumped down from his ledge and landed in front of me.

"We'll come back." I told him, jumping into the saddle.

The dragons roared their goodbyes as we zipped through the sanctuary, and out to the endless ocean.

I looked back to see Cloudjumper tilt his head and make a little roar.

I smiled and turned back around, sitting straight on Toothless.

"Come on." I said. Toothless sped up and zipped through the air, back to Berk.
