"Ahh!" I yelped and jumped back in alarm when I saw Tuffnut standing in front of me.
His jaw dropped and his eyes were wide.
"Ugh, Tuffnut, go home." I said, bending over to pick up my journal that was still sitting in the grass.
"You two- I just- But-" He stuttered.
I gasped and dropped my book when I realized he had been watching us the whole time.
I cursed under my breath and walked over to him."Tuffnut, you can't tell anybody." I said seriously.
"But-But-" He pouted.
"Listen, Astrid's not ready to tell anyone and you have to respect that." I said.
"But what if-" He started to say something.
"No one, Tuffnut." I interrupted.
He thought about it for a second.
"I will keep it a secret on one condition." He said, pointing a finger in the air.
I sighed and waited.
"You have to let me ride your dragon." He said excitedly.
I chuckled and looked at Toothless, who didn't seem very open to the idea.
"Don't worry, you'll be riding a dragon in no time."

Early that morning, I was watching Toothless attempt to catch whatever fish were in the lake.
I heard some familiar voices headed our way.
Everyone was standing in front of me, waiting.
"So, what's this great idea?" Snotlout said sarcastically.
"Yeah, would you tell us already?" Ruffnut chimed in.
I shook my head. "I'm not gonna tell you, guys."
They all started yelling at me and I shushed them quickly.
"I'm gonna show you." I turned and nodded at Toothless.
The dragon let out a loud roar and four different dragons flew into the cove, bowing to Toothless. Then they each looked up at us.
Snotlout yelped and pulled out a dagger. The dragons growled.
I walked over to him and grabbed the weapon.
"I knew it! He's trying to kill us!" Snotlout screamed. Astrid covered his mouth with her hand.
I threw the dagger into the lake and turned towards the dragons.
Fishlegs started humming nervously, and Snotlout was still trying to escape Astrid's grip.
I held my hand out toward a blue Deadly Nadder. She cocked her head and sniffed my hand curiously.
"Yeah! Eat him instead!" Snotlout shouted.
The Nadder squawked, telling the other dragons I was a friend.
"Astrid, come over here." I said slowly, hand out in front of the Nadder.
I could tell she was hesitant, but she slowly walked over and stood behind me.
I held my other hand out for her to take. She grabbed it and I held her's just in front of the Nadder's snout.
I could almost hear Astrid's heart beating quickly.
Then I looked at her and silently stepped back.
There was a long, terrifying silence before the blue dragon rested her snout in Astrid's hand.
Astrid chuckled and looked at me.
I smiled and let out a sigh of relief. Then I turned around and looked at the rest of the vikings.
"Who's next?"

Just minutes later, everyone had their own dragon. "This is so cool!" Ruffnut exclaimed.
Tuffnut smiled at one of his dragon's heads and said, "I shall name you Belch."
"And you shall be Barf!" Ruffnut said, staring at the other head.
I was watching the gang bond with their dragons when Toothless came up beside me.
"I think we're changing things for the better." I said, crouching down beside him. He purred happily in agreement.
After a minute, everyone turned toward me.
"So what's next, Hiccup?" Astrid asked, hand on Stormfly's snout.
I smiled.
"We-" I was interrupted by the sound of a horn.
BBLLUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRR
Everyone's eyes went wide.
"That's a dragon raid, guys." Fishlegs said.
My heart dropped. "Alright, new plan." I said, jumping onto Toothless's back.
"Go in there and help them." I said. "All of them."
"Even-" Snotlout started.
"Even the dragons." I assured them. They all nervously got on their dragon's backs and followed me and Toothless to the village.
