Floating

The sounds still echo around in your dream, this soothing melody they bring with it, it feels catchy yet not annoying.
But as you slowly drift out of your sleep, it also stops, getting replaced by the noise of your thoughts.

„Good morning, sleepyhead", Ahri lays in front of you, the oversized shirt loosely hanging over her body, a sight you get used to waking up to.
Feeling like a plain good morning would be unfitting, you stretch forward a bit, caressing her face a bit while kissing her, a kiss she seems eager to return.
A blush on her face as your lips part, a smile forming on your face, as she looks a bit flustered, maybe she did not thought you would just kiss her.
But before your thought ends, she leans herself forward, engaging you in a kiss, while moving her body also towards you.
You know she most likely wants to take over, perhaps to avert the attention from her little blush, but you will not let that happen so easily, you now also trying to get the upper hand.
All this happening, yet no-one seems ready to sacrifice the kiss for it, a playful fight in between, a fight where the potential winner changes every minute, sometimes it looks like you finally got her, sometimes you are just one gentle shift away from loosing.
Something crosses your mind, a way to win, maybe a dirty way to win, but who will ask afterwards?
Maybe Ahri, but the winner writes history.

And your plan goes through smoothly, she is ticklish, really ticklish, her defense and attack almost crumbling in an instant as you do your best.
With a swift motion you roll on top of her, pinning her onto the bed and making sure her arms stay where they are.
Catching your breath, you look down, some rays of light illuminate the dust whirling in the air because of your fight, although your focus is on something entirely else.
Ahri looks up to you with a smirk, like you were the one who fell victim to a trap.
And it really feels like one, as she tilts her head a bit, looking up to you, biting just this little bit of her left side of the lip.
It really just needs this, a small moment of carelessness, for her to topple you , but no follow up attack, just her giggling a bit as you fall back to your side of the bed.
„Let us say it is a draw", she smiles at you, already knowing you have to agree, or it will end in an endless bed fight.
„Only because I do not want to see you loose", it sounds smug enough for you,
„Well, you definitely lost the bath run", she counters.
You cannot even ask what she meant, before you hear the lock of the bathroom, answering your question and preparing you for a long time of waiting.

After what felt like eternity, at least compared to the time you needed in the bath, you two sit again at the table, the usual box of cereal on the table, almost the same bowls.
„So what are we up to today?", Ahri asks in between bites,
„Well, only one thing left", you nod into the direction of the backyard, the tall grass.
She tries to put on her pleading face, but you know, it can stay the way it is, you cannot sell half of the Amazon rainforest as well-kept garden.
„I cannot, Ahri", you answer
„Oh come on, really?",
„You know my task and that I have to show results".
She pouts, looking away from you, as her spoon makes a ceramic clong sound as it hits the edge of the bowl.
She looks out of the window, you can almost feel the days heat in the house already.
„I think I will make a pool day", she says before standing up, leaving you at the table as you sigh, something you knew beforehand, it will never be easy.

Ahri went through with her plans, she got an inflatable rubber duck from only god knows where, now slowly drifting over the almost decent filled pool.
And here you are, already sweating from the heat, scythe in your hand, overlooking this almost never ending ocean of grass, slowly waving in the small breeze.
Anything like a normal lawn mower would just straight up die, maybe a machete would be a second option, but before some accidental decapitations occur, you stick with the scythe.
And at first, it goes really well, cutting through grass like butter, meter after meter falls, as you progress lane by lane, though you begin to feel it wearing you down.
As your arms get sore, it slows down a bit and after that, more and more.
Halfway through, you are almost entirely through your energy and completely through the bottle of water you got yourself.
The fabric of your clothing sticks to your body, only now settles the real fatigue into your muscles, as you sit down, letting the scythe drop beside you.
„Already done for today?", it almost sounds teasing, as Ahri calls out from the pool.
It is not just the feeling, you just know she wants to hear that you are done.
But is this really all you can do?
Just stop halfway there and then be like, always a tomorrow to delay it onto?
Every muscle seems to ache, screaming, as you force yourself back up, grabbing the bottle in the process, the first steps limb a bit, only after some steps it stops.
And after a short water break, you are back at it, scythe in your hand, your t-shirt refitted into a sun hat and one goal, creating the base you need to use a lawn mower.
