Chapter 6

The days pass with books that Omen gave you, but time flies by the fastest when you are with Yoru. 

On the 6th day of you being stuck in bed, Yoru brings you dinner like he had on the 5 days before. But instead of leaving as soon as you scarfed down the meal, he sat down next to you on your bed. 

"What do you want?" you ask, a playful tone to your voice.

"Sage said 'Lark's clear to do activities,'" he said, imitating the Chinese healer's voice, which makes you laugh. "But I have something else to tell you."

Huh?

"Would you like to go out for dinner tomorrow?" He wants to take me out? Where the fuck has the asshole gone?

"Where the fuck is the asshole that I know?" you say.

"You want the asshole? Fine," he replies, his voice instantly losing the gentle tone and his accent thickening. "Dinner. Tomorrow. I'll meet you outside at 5," he says with a mix of a smirk and the stuck-up face that he usually has. Oh. My god.

"N-" you start to say as a joke, but he takes your wrists in his hands. "You don't have a choice, Lark. You're going out with me," he sternly says. Jesus fucking christ that's hot.

"Okayyyyyyyyyyy..." you say, a smirk crawling its way up your face. "And what if I said that your threats are pointless?" Surprise appears on the Japanese man's face. 

"I was going to say yes. Because I like you, you fucking idiot," you tell him before kissing him. His arms wrap around you and he pulls you to your feet, still locked in the kiss.

tomorrow

You throw on a lilac hoodie and some loose sweatpants, since you know that Yoru isn't one of those fancy guys. Chamber's the fancy one, you think. And didn't he ask Viper out and got rejected by her? Honestly, I don't blame her. That guy's so shady he triggers the danger-sense every time he's near me. 

You are outside at 5, enjoying the fresh air, when Yoru appears and takes you to his motorcycle.

a bit later

You get to the city and you are walking down the street, holding Yoru's hand, when you get a vision. 

You see the two of you running from something in these streets, hear a scream and a gatecrash, more screaming, and emerging from the darkness, a triangular icon.

"-rk what happened?" you hear and realize that you're back in your own body. "You just collapsed in the middle of the street what happened?" he asks. Yoru's holding you by the arms, concern clear as daylight on his face.

Rubbing your temples in a circular motion, you tell him, "I'm fine. Where were we headed to?"

Something's off... you think as your gut tells you to turn back. You turn the corner and see the purple triangular icon. That's what it is. "Run," you whisper. The two of you blot down the street away from the icon.

Yoru sneaks a look back and runs faster, pulling you along. "KAY/O," he breathes. Oh shit. It's fucking KAY/O. Of fucking course it has to be him.

Something snags under your foot and you fall forwards. Pain fills your head but you knew it wasn't real, just a vision.

You get up and raise your left hand towards Yoru and run. Secretly pushing him away from the killer robot. 

You hear KAY/O's heavy footsteps behind you and the only thing you are certain of is that someone gets out alive. And it's not gonna be you.

"YOU!"  You pull your hand back.

"ARE!"  You extend your hand.

"POWERLESS!" You push Yoru away with your powers.

The moment the first wave hits you, you feel okay. The second gives you a headache. With the third you bite your cheeks to keep from screaming. With the fourth you drop to the ground and clutch your head. 

And the fifth makes you want to die. KAY/O picks you up and tosses you over his shoulder, as if you were nothing more than a sack of flour. 

Right before the suppression from the ult ended and you had a chance of escaping, KAY/O activated his spherical field of energy. The last thing you remember is Yoru teleporting away.
