"Any ideas?" Grisella asked the group. She was tired and just wanted a suggestion. They'd tried lifting the curse, but unfortunately older curses are the hardest to lift. Funny, older protection spells are so weak but cursed and blessings aren't. They tried performing an exorcism, that didn't do much either.
"We can try to break it?" Bucky suggested.
"Do you think that'll do much?" Grisella asked.
"It's worth a shot." Solomon shrugged.
"Maybe Samuel has more information. Maybe at some point the connection between the souls weakens." Barbatos guessed.
"I think you're onto something there, dear. If there's a point where the connection weakens, then we can try lifting the curse during that time and it might work." Grisella was growing excited with the possibility of having a cure.
"It does seem that the whole issue here is how interwoven the souls are. Would it be best to act now or later when Samuel had to return to the diamond? At what point would the bond be weaker?" Solomon questioned.
"We can give Y/N a call." Bucky said, already pulling out his phone.
"Should we though? They're supposed to be enjoying themselves right now." Grisella frowned.
"Oh please! A simple call won't be distributing them that much. Let me call and we'll see what our next step will be from there, ok?" Everyone agreed and Bucky dialed your phone number.
You were rudely woken up by your phone ringing. You didn't want to get it but you figured you'd check who it was and decide to answer or hang up. Getting out of Karasu's grip was hard, harder than usual. You struggled against his hold.
"Why are you leaving?" Karasu mumbled into your ear.
"I'm just checking my phone." You said, still struggling.
"Hmm don't." He closed his eyes again.
"Karasu!" You whined.
"Who's so important you need to answer the phone?"
"That's what I'm trying to see."
"Fine." He begrudgingly let you go. You rolled over and saw it was your uncle calling. You felt a light breeze so you wrapped some of the blanket around yourself.
"Hey uncle Bucky, what's up?"
"I was just calling to see if you could answer some of our questions, you free?"
"Yup!"
"Alright, so can you ask Samuel when the bond between you two weakens the most?"
"Um sure." You took a few moments to ask and then answered your uncle. "He said that it's the weakest when it's almost time. If you know what I mean."
"I understand. Now, can you ask him if anyone has ever broken the diamond before?"
"He said no. Where are you going with this?"
"We were trying to see if we could try lifting the curse when the bond is weakest. Maybe break the diamond to weaken everything even more."
"I'd be down to try that. Oh! What if you try to make a crack and see what that does?"
"That's a good idea. Can you ask Samuel one last question?"
"Sure."
"As him how long it takes for the person to die and for him to go back to the diamond."
"He said it all happens at once. So like, as the person dies, he goes back to the diamond. He said there are ten solid minutes every time, depending on the person that time can be longer."
