While Alex and Ji-Hoon did their tourist thing that week, the guys were hard at work practicing for the concert. When they weren't practicing, they were working on music or sleeping. It amazed Alex how much they loved their sleep. But, who could blame them? They gave everything their all to the point of exhaustion. She admired them for that. Since before their debut they had put in so many hours of hard work, and sacrificed their youth to reach their dream. They deserved every success that came to them, and more.
It was Thursday night, and Alex was feeling restless. Aside from RM's interview and filming some of their practices, this first week was pretty low key. Most of the focus was on preparing for the first shows to make sure everything went smoothly. She decided to call a cab to take her down to the Sumida River. Pictures of the Eitai Bridge at night were beautiful and she wanted to walk it.
She watched out the window during the drive, seeing the city lit up at night was so exciting. Her home town was small and nothing compared to this. Growing up on a farm didn't give her much hunger for being a city girl. She only lived in a city now because her work required it. If it was up to her, she would have all of her guests come to her farm house and do their interviews there. It was an interesting angle she had considered before. Taking the star out of Hollywood and bringing them down to earth in a small town to get to the center of who they were. She would have to bring that up to her management team to see if they thought they could make a series out of it.
The cab pulled up to the curb by the bridge to drop her off. She paid him and headed towards the water.
The sounds of the city were in the background as she made her way to the bridge. The air was cool and there was a light breeze. She was glad she thought to bring a jacket with her. A handful of people were on the bridge, walking hand in hand or taking photos of the city. Alex leaned on the rail and looked out over the water. Whenever she needed to think or needed peace from her busy life, she was always drawn to water. It soothed her soul and calmed her mind. She was lost in thought, and didn't notice the footsteps approaching her.
"Do you believe in fate?"
The voice startled her and she jumped. Before she turned to look at him she already knew it was Yoongi. "Holy crap, you scared me!" She put her hand to her chest to calm her heart.
Yoongi laughed, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." He leaned against the railing with her to look out over the water. "So, do you believe in fate?"
Alex thought about it for a moment. "I don't know if fate is the word I would use, it always seems like a gloomy term when you think back historically. I do believe that there is divine intervention that sends us opportunities though. Why do you ask?"
Yoongi searched her face as if he was trying to find some answer. "What are the odds I decided to come to this bridge tonight and so did you?"
"When you put it that way I can see your point." Alex stared back over the water. "So, what brought you down here tonight?"
"I needed to get out of my room to get some fresh air and think. We've been so busy these last few days. I wanted to clear my head before tomorrow."
Alex looked at him watching the river, the city lights behind him like a halo. His eyes ran deep like an ocean, full of mystery she wanted to explore. "What's been weighing on your mind? Are you nervous about the reaction from fans or is it something you're working on?"
"There are always some nerves before a tour, but mostly excitement." Yoongi turned to lean back against the rail. "I've been working on some new music, but so far I haven't run into any issues." He contemplated what he was about to say next, "To be honest, I have been distracted lately." He looked up at the night sky, "I think it's you."
Alex froze. Me? Why would I distract him? Don't read into it Alex, he's way out of your league. "I distract you? How?" She waited for him to respond for what seemed like ages.
"Just by being you." He stopped there.
Alex raised her eyebrows, "Care to elaborate on that?" She laughed.
"Not just yet." He gave her a side smile and turned back to the water. "Are you ready to head back? I'll call my driver."
Alex nodded her head and they walked back to the end of the bridge. Alex's mind was reeling. How could he say something like that and not explain himself? He was so confusing. On the drive back Yoongi pointed out some restaurants she and Ji-Hoon should try before they left. She made a mental note to try at least one of them. The car pulled up to the hotel to let them out.
Yoongi walked Alex to her room, "Thank you for tonight."
Alex looked at him surprised, "For what?"
"Just your company. I thought I had wanted to be alone, but talking with you relaxed me."
Alex's cheeks turned red, "Oh, you're welcome. I actually had a nice time too."
"Well, I'm off to bed. Get some rest tonight, you'll want your energy for the concert tomorrow." With that he gave her a wink and headed to his room.
Alex went into her room and leaned back against the door. Her heart was fluttering like a hummingbird. Could Yoongi actually like her? This was not the time to let her fantasies run wild. He was an idol, and she was . . . . just Alex. She was here to do her job, and she needed to remember that. She went to take a hot shower to calm her nerves. She doubted she would be getting any sleep that night.

Down the hall, RM and Jin had just watched Yoongi dropping Alex off at her room. "What do you think that was all about?" Jin asked.
"I'm thinking Yoongi might actually be attracted to Alex. Which confirms our plan to get the two of them together. He just so happens to be helping without even knowing it." RM and Jin laughed together while giving a high five.
