Monday night Alex arrived at Yoongi's for the big dinner. She was nervous, she wanted to make a good impression on his brother. She would need his approval for the day she finally met Yoongi's parents. She had a feeling she would need all the help she could get.
She punched in the code and walked in. The kitchen smelled amazing with whatever he was cooking. He looked up at her and smiled. "He'll be here in a little bit."
She walked up behind him and hugged him, "MMMM, you smell good. You should buy stock in that cologne." She came around the counter to watch him cook.
He was frying steaks in some type of butter sauce and had veggies sautéing in another pan. He had several bottles of wine set out for them to choose from as well as soju and beer chilling in the fridge. There was a knock at the door and Yoongi wiped his hands on a towel to go let his brother in.
"Hello hyung." His brother walked in and Yoongi turned to introduce him to Alex.
"Alex, this is Geum-Jae." She bowed and smiled at him. "It's nice to meet you."
He smiled and bowed back to her, "It's nice to meet you as well."
They sat at the kitchen table while Yoongi finished cooking. The two brothers talked, catching up on the family. Alex watched them, taking in their different personalities, but seeing the similarities between the two of them. It was so interesting to see another side of Yoongi as he talked with his brother.
"Alex, Yoongi tells me you will be working for HYBE now. Are you looking forward to it? Are you sure you can pull off making this one likable in the media?" He gave her a crooked grin as he razzed his brother.
She chuckled, "At this point he could put a tattoo on his forehead and ARMY would still gush. He and the others will make my job easy." She looked over at Yoongi as he brought their plates over and set them on the table.
"A tattoo on my forehead? That's a bit much. Maybe I'll shave my head, see how you spin that one." He laughed as he brought their drinks over. "Dinner is served."
Geum-Jae gave him a sour look, "Please don't shave your head. You'll look like an infant again."
Yoongi tilted his head back and laughed. Alex loved seeing the interaction between the two of them. She could see how Yoongi looked up to him. His support since before he debuted had always meant so much to Yoongi. He had needed that back then and would never forget it.
After they had eaten and talked through the evening, Geum-Jae was finally ready to head back home to his family. Before he left he turned to Yoongi and gave him a thumbs up as he nodded his head toward Alex. "It was nice meeting you, I look forward to seeing you more once you're settled in." He waved goodbye then left.
Alex slumped onto the couch, "Tell me the truth, how did that go? Do you think he liked me?" Yoongi sat next to her on the couch and put his hand on her leg, "Yes, he liked you. Now you don't have to worry."
"Oh, I still have to worry, one day I'll meet your parents, but as your girlfriend this time. I'll be a basket case." She stared at the wall as she tried imagining it.
He chuckled, "You worry too much. Haven't you realized you win people over without even trying? Everybody loves you."
She laid her head on the back of the couch, "I really liked your brother. I can see the similarities between the two of you. I liked seeing you guys together."
"Yeah, he's ok." He laughed when she slapped at his arm. "So, have you started looking for a place here yet? Its not like you can live in the hotel forever."
She lifted her head up, "Yeah, I should get on that. I've just been so excited over everything. I'll start working on that as soon as we wrap up the edits next week."
