That evening, Alex knocked on Yoongi's door. She was so nervous her hands were sweating. She wiped them on her pants but there was no use. She was adjusting her purse when Yoongi opened the door. He stood there in his black jeans, a black turtleneck, black leather coat, and of course, his black hat. He looked her up and down and started laughing.
"You'd think we planned this together." He pulled his door closed.
Alex looked down at her outfit and couldn't help but laugh as well. She too wore all black. Black jeans and a black fitted v-neck shirt with black knee high boots and a thin, black leather jacket. She had to admit that he pulled off the look much better. "I guess great minds think alike."
He nodded toward the elevator, "Ready to go? Are you hungry? Should we stop for something to eat?"
Alex shook her head, "Nope, we can grab something where we're going."
He eyed her suspiciously, "You still aren't going to give me a clue where we are going?"
She smiled at him mischievously, "You'll see soon enough." When they got in the car she showed the driver the address of where they needed to go. Yoongi kept trying to guess where they were headed. When they turned onto the final street, they could see the stadium up ahead. He looked over at her with a shocked look on his face. "Are we going to a basketball game?!"
She nodded her head, "Yep. It's a preseason game for the Rising Zephyr. They're only a B Team, but I thought you might still like to take in a game while we were here."
"Awesome!" Yoongi was excited and full of energy now.
When they entered the stadium, they hit the concession stand for some food and drinks. Their seats weren't horrible, but they weren't court side. Yoongi didn't mind, it was good just to get out and see a game. His love for basketball always made him feel like a kid again.
"I read they were coached by Joe Bryant at one point." Alex said as she took a drink of her soda.
Yoongi nodded his head as he chewed his food. "They were on the A string at one time, but due to funding cuts they were dropped back, but they still have some great players on the team."
As the game started, Alex watched Yoongi come alive. Every so often he would shout at a play, or clap when someone made a basket. It felt good to watch him really enjoy himself outside of music. It was just another side of him she was falling for.
When the game was over, Yoongi and Alex headed back to the hotel. He was still pumped from the game so he asked the driver to stop at a coffee shop on the way and drop them off. They could walk to the hotel from there.
Once they had their iced Americanos, they sat at a booth inside and talked. He was more talkative than she had ever seen him before. He was stirring his coffee around when he looked up at her, "This was one of the best nights I've had in a long time. Thank you."
She smiled, "It was my way of showing you my appreciation for taking care of me. You don't expect that being so far away from home with people you don't know that well."
"Hey now, you can't say you don't know us very well anymore. You've been with us for almost 2 months, and in that short time I think you've become pretty close with everyone. The guys all like you and that's saying a lot."
Alex blushed, "That's true, I've enjoyed my time so far and getting to know you all better. It almost doesn't feel like I'm working, but spending time with friends."
"See, that's how you know you're doing what you love, when work doesn't feel like work. That's how I feel about music." Yoongi looked down at his phone when he got a notification.
