"OK, let's get through the airport quick. I have somewhere to be." Yoongi was anxiously awaiting to exit the plane. They had just landed in Montreal and he was ready to see Alex. Things just hadn't been the same between them since the article came out. Ji-Hoon had said he would handle it, but Yoongi was starting to doubt he handled anything at all. As they entered the terminal, Yoongi was walking at a clipped pace to get to the cars.
As soon as they were in the cars he pulled his phone out.
Lex
Yoongi:
Just landed, are you at the hotel?
Lex:
I sure am, see you guys in a bit
Yoongi let out a sigh of relief. In a few minutes he would get to see her face. It had been a long two weeks. He needed his arms around her. Then everything would feel right again.
The cars pulled up to the hotel. Ji-Hoon was there to greet them. "Welcome to Montreal gentlemen. I need you to take your stuff up to your rooms then meet me in the suite."
Yoongi leaned towards Ji-Hoon, "I really need to see Alex first."
Ji-Hoon nodded his head, "Just put your stuff in your room then come to the suite. You'll see her in a minute."
When the elevator doors opened, Yoongi sprinted off down to his room to drop his bag. He never noticed the guys go in the opposite direction towards the suite. When he came back out he headed straight down the hall to the suite room and opened the door. "SURPRISE!" Yoongi stopped out of shock. The room was decorated for his birthday, and the guys stood there with Ji-Hoon and Alex, holding balloons next to the table that had a cake on it.
Yoongi rolled his eyes and laughed, "You guys, my birthday was yesterday."
"But, yesterday is today because you flew back in time, so it's still your birthday." J-Hope smiled at his own confusing explanation of the time change on Yoongi's birthday during their flight.
"Let's eat!" Jin passed around pizza boxes for everyone to dig in.
Yoongi walked over to Alex and wrapped her in a hug, "Hi."
She gave him a light hug back, "Hi."
He pulled away and smiled down at her, "Did you do all of this?"
She smiled at him and shrugged her shoulders, "I had some help."
They walked over to the table to grab some pizza, then Yoongi looked down and looked closely at his cake. "Seriously?" Everyone started laughing, it was a grumpy cat cake.
Everyone talked as the evening went on, catching up with Alex from their time spent apart. Jimin finally called everyone's attention, "I think the birthday boy has some gifts to open." He brought them over from the table and handed them to Yoongi.
As he opened his gifts, Alex was lost in thought. She had missed him so much, and when she first saw him, it took everything she had not to jump into his arms. She didn't know how to handle all these mixed emotions she was feeling when he was around, and she was trying not to make it obvious.
"Oooh, Alex's gift." Her attention turned to Yoongi as he opened her gift.
He unwrapped the rectangle box then lifted the lid. Inside was a glass frame, with their picture inside. It was from the night they stood up on the Eiffel Tower wrapped in his coat. They were cheek to cheek, looking out over the city as if no one else was around, their faces lit in the soft glow of the city lights below. Inside the card she had written him a note.
"To My Kryptonite,
No matter where life takes us, we will always have the memories we shared.
-Lex"
He slowly slid the card back in its envelope and placed it back inside the box. The gift was amazing, but something was off. He looked over at her but she was busy talking to Namjoon.
Ji-Hoon was getting ready to leave and was saying his goodbyes, "Well, it's been a long day. I think I'm going to head back to my room."
As he was walking out the door, Alex suddenly stood up, "Me too, we have a big week ahead of us and I want to make sure I have everything ready." She grabbed her bag and waved goodbye to everyone as she walked out the door ahead of Ji-Hoon.
Ji-Hoon looked back at Yoongi with a bewildered look on his face before he closed the door. Yoongi and the guys were all standing frozen in shock. Yoongi's mouth was moving but no sound was coming out. Did she really just leave? Just like that?
Jungkook looked over at Jimin, "What just happened? Why did Nuna leave like that?" He looked over at Yoongi who was still staring at the door in shock. "I think we better go." RM slapped Yoongi on the shoulder in farewell as he ushered the rest of the guys out. Yoongi stood there for another minute while his brain tried to process what just happened. Suddenly he shook his head and bolted out the door. He stormed down the hallway to see Ji-Hoon point to a door to let him know it was Alex's as he backed into his room. Yoongi took a deep breath and let it out then knocked on Alex's door.
