Dr. Abhishek Mehta was driving home from the hospital, after a tedious day. The next day would dawn to his, not his, their dream coming true. Tomorrow is the day 'Satva' would be launched... He missed that special someone every day and every night, but the thought of their dream coming true made him miss him more...... Sid, if only you were here by my side now, how happy would we have been....?

Now, he was quite a rich person and had a life which others would call 'perfect'. But only he and his close ones knew how 'perfect' his life was.... Everything was slowly crumbling to dust.

He reached his house, parked his car, and entered the house. There was an unusual silence in there. He found his older brother Abhinav and Siddharth's younger brother Samarth waiting for him at the door. Samarth used to hang around in the house like it was his own, and nobody dared to question him, because Abhishek allowed that.... Over the years, nobody dared to talk back to him. From being a friendly boy next door, he had grown into a domineering, cold workaholic. Now, not even his father, the patriarch of the Mehta household, who was once feared by Abhishek himself, dared to cross his path.... Only his parents and brother knew the actual reason, though. The others could only speculate that he had lost something, or someone precious... His relatives who were living in the mansion believed that it was due to Siddharth's, his best friend's,  untimely death.... Everyone thought that a woman could work wonders in his life and bring his lost smile back, But...

Abhinav's and Samarth's faces were grim. Abhishek sensed trouble and asked " Bhaiya (brother) what happened?"

Samarth was the one who replied " Abhishek bhaiyya, Neeti bhabhi's parents have come. This time,...... I think they are really serious."

( Bhabhi - brother's wife)

Abhishek sighed in despair. He knew what exactly his in laws  wanted. He was utterly tired of having to explain himself over and over. Usually, they create a ruckus the moment they arrive, but today, they were surprisingly silent. Neeti being Sidddharth's cousin, even Siddharth's parents had tagged along this time. Maybe Neeti had spilled the beans about their relationship.

" Little bro, I think you should tell her parents the truth. They seem to be considering Neeti as a victim, and you as a tyrant. " Abhinav said.

Siddharth's braced himself to face their accusations. At that moment, his father came over and spoke in an undertone " Come whatever may, you should put our family's name and prestige first, and don't even think of telling him what you are and especially, don't mention that bastard...."

" HE IS NOT A BASTARD........" Abhishek exploded, his eyes red with fury, trying to control himself. People in the house were shocked. In the last years, there were only a few times when Abhishek expressed any kind of emotion, let alone anger.

He glared at his dad. Quickly gaining composure, he scoffed in a low voice " Don't worry Mr. Mehta, I will not tell them about that. But honestly, you are thick skinned enough to have destroyed my life once, and now destroying an innocent girls life, without the slightest bit of remorse?"

Before father Mehta could say anything, Abhishek moved majestically to his in laws, in large strides, now towering over them. He asked " What is the matter now? "

His father in law asked with a scorn " Do you have a second wife? "

" No"

"Then, do you have a girlfriend or an affair?"

Abhishek sighed " Not at all "

Hearing him, Siddharth's mother, Khyati  jumped to her feet and snapped " THEN WHY THE HELL ARE YOU INDIFFERENT TO OUR NIECE? YOU DON'T EVEN SHARE A ROOM WITH HER "
