....And so they resumed watching. Siddharth volunteered to washup the dishes. And Abhishek hoisted Sam on his shoulders, to put him to sleep. For a while, Sam blabbered on, about how Aarav 'bhaiyya' had sneaked out of class with his friends... Abhishek sighed. That brat of a nephew loved to boast about his adventures.... He felt worried, about Sam also starting to skip classes. But Sam was only five, unlike Aarav, who was ten, and his child could do with a few more years of innocent mischief... Abhishek found that he kind of liked the notion- of Sam being his child as well..
Soon, the little snitch fell asleep, and Abhishek took him upstairs, and tucked him in his bed. The elders were following his movements closely....
Just as he was descending the stairs, Siddharth emerged out of the Kitchen. His hair was now windswept, and more than a few buttons of his shirt was open, revealing a chiseled collar bone and parts of his toned pectorals. There was a smirk on his face. Abhishek stood still on the stairs.
" Ready to be taken, baby...?" Siddharth spoke, and man, his voice was hot! The flirtatious tone made it more so...
The elders were shocked and shocked was an understatement. To think of the ever cheerful gremlin boy, and this lustful man! Unfortunately, Ba blurted out " Hey Jagdish Bhai, he looks like he'll devour my grandson today!". Mr Mehta turned a vibrant shade of purple and hissed " Ba! "
And Bapuji played along " Yes.... Hopefully they'll move into a room....?"
And now The two sets of parents in the room were certain that Ba and Bapuji had gone mad. Nevertheless, they focused on the screen again. Now the view was from the top of the staircase. Abhishek's back was to the camera, and Siddharth was slowly climbing up the stairs, without taking his eyes off Abhishek.
Abhishek quickly turned, and climbed up the remaining stairs, with a smile.....? However, Siddharth was quicker, and silently caught up with him. So, he was soon caught by Siddharth, and pinned onto the nearby wall.
" Oh no!" Mekhla exclaimed, albeit quietly. She then explained " They are standing just outside this room !"
That is when they remembered the fact that they were hiding, and were waiting to confront the boys. So why waste time? The room lights were already out, from the beginning, to not raise the boys' suspicion. Mr Mehta switched the monitor off, and the room was totally dark. Just as they rose from their seats and proceeded to walk out, the door to the master bedroom opened, and two silhouettes tumbled into the room. They were so lost in kissing, that they did not notice people standing in the farther side of the room, looking scarred for life!
One of them, Siddharth, possibly, pushed the other on to the bed.
" Careful, sweetheart! You'll rip my shirt!"
" Abhi... baby, I'll not let anyone come between us, not even a shirt!"
When the conversation gave way to slight moans and other embarrassing sounds, Mekhla woke up from her stupor, and switched the lights on. Thankfully, both the boys were fully clothed, save for the unbuttoned shirts. Siddharth, who was hovering above Abhishek, quickly got up, bewildered, and Abhishek followed suit. He shuddered, when he saw the people in the room. Abhishek looked scared for a moment. However, both boys regained their bearings soon, and looked at the elders, expecting questions...., which came up soon enough.
" What is happening here?" Mr Mehta thundered. The boys stole glances at each other, with barely-there sly grins.
" Here? Well,... I.... We love each other!" Abhishek stuttered.
" This is not funny Abhi.... Honestly we don't understand anything. So it is imperative that we discuss this... whatever this is, like civilized people.." Mekhla said, to her son, while side eyeing her husband.
" Yes.... In fact we were planning to tell you next week. Siddharth and I....Ma, we have been together for almost half a year now. We love each other, and we wish to spend our lives together, like you and father. It is as simple as that. " Abhishek spoke.
" We know this is a bit too much to digest, but this is what it is... And I can assure you, this is not a thoughtless decision or a fleeting fantasy... Neither is it a youthful impulse, nor recklessness. We have thought this through..." Siddharth said. Khyati scoffed and almost yelled
" Listen to yourself, Sid! Does this seem normal to you? Aren't you both psychiatrists? Surely there must be some cure...! How can two men have a romantic relationship? And aren't you embarrassed, k.......kissing Abhishek, and all that...?" Hearing that, Siddharth paled, and Abhishek gulped. He clasped Siddharth's hand, and asked " Kaki, 'this', is no illness, to be cured..No offense meant, but kaki, haven't you kissed kaka? If that is normal, this is too... Gender has got nothing to do with whom we fall for..."
Before Khyati or anybody else could ask anything, Siddharth grabbed Abhishek's hand and said "Let's be honest.... If you take the gender outside, aren't I and Abhishek a good match?"
They had no answer to that. It was true...
