" Abhi, has she come ? "
Siddharth asked. He was pacing back and forth, a tad bit tensed, in the dressing room. It was the final match for the inter club kick boxing championship.... and his opponent was sadly his arch-rival, Jake, whom he had once defeated, two-three years before. Jake had taken that to heart and was always hostile to Siddharth. Also he was known for using dirty tricks to win, which were difficult to catch. Siddharth had practiced hard, perfecting his techniques to the T. But still, he was tensed and hoped to talk to Riya to calm himself down... However, she was no where to be seen.
Abhishek scanned the audience for her, and replied in the negative. It was almost nearing the time, and Siddharth looked lost. Abhishek felt that it was up to him to boost his love's morale. He went over to Siddharth and stopped him from pacing " Sid, look at me..... She is not here, but I am sure she will come soon. You don't need to feel scared. You are the best and it is he, that lowlife, who should be scared of you.."
Siddharth gazed into his eyes, failing to grasp the truth in his eyes.. " Abhi, I know that, but, what if he decides to have his revenge? You know that even I have my weak spot, right?"
He was feeling low, and he averted his gaze. Abhishek cupped his hands around Siddharth's face and said in a low, strong voice " I am with you, and nothing will go wrong.... I trust you Sid, even you should trust yourself" Siddharth suddenly hugged him tight. Abhishek was shocked for a moment, but later he returned the hug, now gently stroking the back of his head. He then whispered in Siddharth's ear " You can do it, Sid. Believe in yourself.."
With a rush of adrenaline, Siddharth ascended to the boxing ring. He faced his rival with smug look.. Seeing him, the crowd went bonkers and cheered loudly " SIDDHARTH" " SIDDHARTH" His friends were also seated in the crowd, clapping for him..
The first round went smooth, and Siddharth easily pinned Jake down, winning round one.
The second time, Siddharth was fighting in the offensive, forcing him to retreat, while all of a sudden, Jake whispered something in his ear, with an evil grin. Siddharth stopped in his tracks. Anger clouded his eyes and he began to thrash him furiously, yelling " YOU ARE LYING....". He was losing focus, and seizing this opportunity, Jake delivered a powerful blow to his jaw and Siddharth fell down, on his stomach. Jake sat on top of him and whispered something again to a struggling Siddharth. Hearing that, he stopped struggling. The cheering crowd grew quiet, disappointed seeing the all time champion pinned to the ground. Abhishek and the other friends were getting anxious. It was almost like Siddharth had lost the will to fight. The boxing judge counted 3....2....1..... and Jake won the second round. By then, Siddharth's fans were yelling that Jake was using unfair methods to weaken Siddharth emotionally. But then, there was no proof.
The third time around, everyone was quiet. It was a losing match, and Siddharth had zero confidence. His vision was clouded and the corner of his mouth was bleeding. Jake knocked him down again, erupting in laughter. He had a devilish look, and he pressed Siddharth's head on the ground, tightly gripping his neck. Siddharth had lost the will to struggle and he closed his eyes....... Waiting for all this to get over....
