Locklynn is a teenage girl, but with a family who doesn't care about her, that is until she runs away and meets Devin, a boy her age with a connection to wolves.
"Ah-woooo" Locklynn heard the wolves howling once again as she ran through the woods. She wasn't sure where her legs where taking her, she simply knew she needed to get out of the woods as soon as she possibly could. As she was running she tripped only to hear a long, low growling. She turned around avoiding eye contact with the large animal only to find it wasn't growling at her, but at something behind her. Locklynn turned her gaze only to be met by the large physique of a mountain lion, ready to pounce at any moment. The large wolf growled and pounced on the mountain lion standing only a few feet away grabbing its throat. The mountain lion winced in pain as it tried to fight the wolf back. All of a sudden a rather handsome boy comes from around the corner and shoots the mountain lion. Locklynns POV I sit frozen in fear as the wolf calmly approaches the boy.

"Get up." he says simply reaching out his hand, "Axle won't do anything, he's large but rather harmless." I grab the boys hand standing up. "So Axle's his name, he's cute." I reply still in slight shock at what's happened. The boy looks me up and down and soon asks "So what's your name, and why are you here?" I look at him nervously and say "I'm Locklynn. You really don't need to know what I'm doing here though." The boy glances as the wolf and back at me "I'm Devin Banks" he says moving his black hair away from his green eyes, "But..." he says pausing "I do need to know why your here." He says arms crossed. "Crap" i think to myself. "Listen I can't go into details, but my step dad is Mark Woods, and right now I really don't feel safe at home, I'd rather Axle eat me right now then go back there." I reply worried he will send me home. "Wait, Mark Woods? The multi millionaire?" Devin replies with a slight smirk "So your the new rich girl enrolling in school next year aye?" I laugh slightly "I'm lucky if they even let me out of the basement they call my room, let alone give me money" I say with a sad smile plastered on my face. "That's why I left, they hate me. Please don't tell my family I'm here I beg you, my step dad will kill me!" I plead as I drop to the ground, my hands together in a praying motion. "I won't tell him don't worry. Egotistical rich people get on my nerves anyways." He says helping me up smiling. "Listen, Locklynn was it? I live close by, if you can keep where I live and everything about it secret, I have an extra room you can stay in." I look at him slightly shocked, "Really? That would be AMAZING!" I reply excitedly. "Alright then let's get going," Devin replied, "Axle come on!" "Wait Axle too?" I reply surprised "he's a wolf though." Devin had an amused look on his face as he says, "oh Woods, there's a lot more like Axle where we are going."
