Locklynn P.O.V
Devin drags me to a hallway to talk away from everyone else. "I can't believe you dragged me into this!" I say looking stunned. "I'm sorry! But these girls won't leave me alone!" He says trying to justify what he's done. "It's fine." I say putting a hand on his shoulder, "I guess i do kinda owe you one for letting me stay with you instead of telling my dad where I was at." I say with a small smile. We hear the bell ring and I walked to class. Once we arrive to class I glance over to a girl and a boy. "Joy, David Hey!" I yell over at the two people that I was best friends with for over 5 years. "Oh hey I guess." Joy says rolling her eyes. This has been normal behavior for the last 2 years. "Ok I'm done pretending to like this idiot." She says looking over at David after pointing to me. "What do you mean?" I say questioning. "We only talked to you for your step dads money. No one would like you if it weren't for that." Joy says, a wave of pain hitting me. "You didn't think we actually liked you did you?" David asks and I simply nod. "Pfftt pathetic." Joy adds in. I turn to walk away and start packing up my things from my desk.

I am sitting at my desk as I see Locklynn walking back. She starts packing up her things. "Where are you going?" I ask confused as school isn't over. "Home." She says simply. "Ok why?" I ask wondering what happened. "I have a headache." She says not giving much detail. "There's pain killers at home, be careful." I say helping her get her stuff. "Yeah sure." She says heading out the door. Something more is going on and i wanted to know what it was when my thoughts got interrupted. "Bro did you hear what your girlfriends ex best friends said to her?" My best friend Andrew asks. "No what do you mean?" I say. "It's probably why she left, they where brutal. They said stuff like she isn't their friend, she's an idiot, and that they where using her for her step dads money and no one would like her otherwise." He says giving me a look as he knew I was mad. "I'm going home." I say packing my stuff quickly. "Ok man, I'll let the teachers know that Locklynn wasn't feeling well so you went to take care of her." Andrew says. "Thanks dude." I say as I pack up to leave.

I get home and for the first time in weeks start to cry, giving no care about who hears. I cry for about 15 minutes when I hear the door open. I cry silently as to not draw attention to my room. "Locklynn are you ok? I heard what happened." I hear the familiar voice say. "I'm fine Devin." I say trying to sound like I haven't been crying. "That's a lie, I'm coming in." He says, and I immediately hide under the blanket so he can't see my face. I hear foot steps and then I'm embraced in a hug. I freeze for a moment and then hug him back. "I know your not ok. It's ok to cry you know?" I hear him say and I burst into tears again. "They never liked me. No one ever did! They all just liked the money!" I yell not caring anymore.
Devin P.O.V
My heart clenched hearing those words. I loved her for her, not her money. "Hey that's not entirely true, I don't like the money." I say trying to comfort her. "Then why do you like me?!?" She yelled obviously confused. "I don't." I say simply. "Then let go of me you idiot I-" I cut her off and kiss her for the first time. We break away and she looks at me. "I don't like you because I love you." I assure her. "I love you too." She says as she sniffles. "Locklynn will you be my girlfriend for real?" I ask anticipating the answer. "Yeah of course!" She replies with a small smile on her face for the first time today. "I know what they did still hurts, but we can watch a movie and eat popcorn." I say hugging her once more. "Can we, um, cuddle?" She says the last part in a quiet almost inaudible voice. "Of course." I say to her as we lay on her bed and turn on the TV. After about 30 minutes I hear snoring coming from my chest. I look down to see her sleeping. "Good night Locklynn. I love you so much." I say kissing the top of her head and shortly I fall asleep too.
