3RD POV
After dinner and everyone had gone to sleep the six children went back to the dining room. Don and Gilda were sitting on one side of the table whereas Emma was sitting on the other. Ray, Norman, and m/n decided to stand. Norman stood by Emma and Ray and m/n were leaning against a wall.
They stayed in silence for a few moments. Don and Gilda refuse to make eye contact with them. Ray who was getting tired of the silence decided to break it. "So?" Ray said with slight anger in his tone.
"We went into mama's secret room," Don admitted still not looking at them.
"How?" Emma questioned.
Gilda looked up looking at Emma. "Don stole the key." She answered and before she could finish she was cut off by Emma.
"From Mama?"
"And, did Mama..." Norman trailed off looking worried that she may have noticed it was taken.
"I don't think she noticed. We already returned the key, too. So probably..." Gilda said turning her attention to Norman before she was cut off once again.
"You did something really stupid," Ray said close to yelling at the two. Gilda looked back down while Don's eyebrows furrowed even more than they already were. "What would you do if the room was equipped with either a camera, a bug, or an alarm? If Mama or Sister found out, you two... no, all of us would be—"
Don looked at Ray clear anger in his expression. "Tell us what would happen," Don demanded. Ray scowled but didn't say anymore. Don turned his attention to Emma. "Would we get killed?" He asked surprising Emma. "We found Conny's Little Bunny in the secret room. So much for your 'I don't know' and 'let's go save them'."
Don stood up and slammed his hand on the table. "Can we even go save them? Because Conny..." he bent over his anger subsiding with sadness. He stood up straight again with a sad expression across his face. "Conny and everyone else are..."
Emma quickly stood up. "I'm sorry." She apologized while putting her hands on the table and her head down almost touching the table. "I'm really sorry!" She apologized once more.
Gilda looked terrified. "So they're really..." Emma's eyes widened.
"I told you, Gilda. They were lying after all." Don yet again slammed his hand on the table and went down towards Emma until his head was right above the back of hers. "What are you hiding? Tell us the whole truth."
Don and Emma both stood back up straight. Emma looked at Norman and he gave her a nod signifying that they were going to tell the two 10-year-olds. And so the truth came out.
