Sasha must have completely disregarded what Grime had said because she continued to visit Anne regularly.

It didn't matter though. She was Sasha Waybright,

Captain of the cheer team,

First-Mate to captain Grime,

And lieutenant of the Toad Army.

She did not get attached. She told herself that at least.

Aside from that, it had been a while now since Anne's capture. Sasha had been doing a good job of distracting her from her troubles, but when Anne was alone, mostly at night, it really wore on her.

The sun had long since set over the ocean, and Anne layed uncomfortably in her cell, crying softly as everything that she had bottled up throughout the day resurfaced.

This was pretty much her new routine:

Wake up,

Do nothing but be bored and talk to Sasha when she can,

And then finally when nighttime comes and the whole crew is asleep,

Cry

Anne cried as she thought about her legs that she had mostly gotten used to by now. There was no point though really. She didn't even know how to use them.

She cried and thought about Hop Pop who was probably blaming himself right now,

And Sprig and Polly who most likely didn't even know how to deal with the loss of their sister.

She thought about Wartwood and how they were doing right now without their resident mermaid and town protector.

Anne sighed as it was becoming all too much to think about.

The only thing she had left to do was measly little attempts at comfort.

She laid her head under the dripping water, not her legs though, she would get an earful for that.

Then, softly, Anne began to hum. She made sure to do it quietly though, if not she would surely wake up-

"Anne! What have I told you about the humming?"

And there it is.

Almost as if it were on cue Sasha makes her way into Anne's room.

"Cmon Sasha I wasn't even doing it loudly..." Anne spoke between sniffles, "Do you ever sleep?"

"Do you? I hear you up all night humming." Sasha remarked as she found a spot on the floor to sit on.

"So that means you are up if you hear me every night."

"Whatever," Sasha gave a tired groan, "What's bothering you? I can tell that's more than just water from the drip on your face."

The more time Anne spent with Sasha, the more she noticed how her horrifying pirate demeanor shifted into something more.. soft. Sure she was still extremely confident, carrying herself with such power and control, using her skills to get exactly what she wanted. She was the empidemy of the perfect pirate. This ship was wrapped around Sasha's fingertips, leaving her free to do whatever she pleased. For some reason though, most of the time what Sasha pleased was to hang out with Anne.

"I'm just...thinking about my family." Anne sniffled, "And you know my home and stuff."

"Your family huh? It's weird to think that there's just a whole sea full of mermaids out there and all of Amphibia hasn't seen any for like a thousand years." Sasha talked and it almost made Anne giggle at how horribly wrong she was.
