Lean On Me

After a good night's sleep Anne was completely fine.

It was bizarre really, considering she had been completely out of it the night before.

She was extremely eager to get up that morning and while Sasha was a little adamant in letting her leave without a little more rest, she was thankful.

Sasha had been over this before, there was no convincing Grime if Anne was bed ridden.

But of course there was no issue because as mentioned previously, Anne seemed to be just fine.

Again, It was really strange.

The last time Anne had been in such a sorry state was when she was all curled up underneath the staircase of her old room, struggling to accept the fact that she had legs.

Even so it was completely different from then.

Her exhaustion seemed to come out of nowhere.

Not to mention the sea's behavior that night.

At the moment, it was mind boggling, but now that Anne was feeling better it was easier not to think about it.

More concerning things were up ahead.

"Hey Sash!" Anne called out to her as she watched the girl train alongside a few other crewmates.

They were sword fighting, which Anne happened to know a thing or two about.

"Can I join in?" She asked.

"You...sword fight?" Sasha sounded perplexed, but the statement was hardly insulting.

"Yup! One time Hop Pop dropped me, Sprig, and Polly off at a daycare for the weekend, but the guy there actually turned out to be a crook who taught us how to fight and stuff!" Anne explained, "I think sword fighting underwater might be a little different but I'm sure it's pretty much the same!"

Sasha shuffled awkwardly in her place.

Sword fighting is dangerous for obvious reasons, and her whole goal is to keep Anne out of danger, not put her in it.

"Maybe another time..." She spoke, finally.

That was probably not the best answer because now Anne was just standing there, clearly disappointed.

"Why not now?" Anne tried to ask softly.

Oh frog, Sasha didn't know what to say.

On one hand it's dangerous and she didn't want to risk Anne getting hurt, especially since she still could be recovering from last night.

On the other hand Anne is Anne and Sasha had a newly formed tendency to give the girl anything she wanted.

Except if she wanted to involve herself in anything dangerous or unsafe.

Or if she wanted to know about what was going on between Sasha and Grime.

And about the letter he had sent to the king.

Also the fact that Sasha's now only had four days to prove Anne's worth.

Oh, and don't forget about the whole frog dang rebellion for that matter!

Yeah, Sasha had been keeping a lot to herself.

"Sasha?" Anne called out, snapping the girl out of her thoughts.

Shoot, say something.

"Because...um..." Sasha tried speaking with a false sense of heroism, "Well I wouldn't want you to get hurt or anything."
