Chapter 4

After everything was explained to Rhodey, Tony continued with explaining everything in detail to Loki, who had died before Thanos had actually fulfilled his plan.

Loki listened intently and categorized the events in his head to have a sort of Thanos timeline. He was silently seething at the middle of the story but got increasingly calmer the more Tony told him.

"You're such a moron." Loki decided on saying.

Tony was perplexed and didn't know what to say for a moment before intelligently replying. "What?"

"I said that you are a moron. A dunce, an individual who is under the average intelligence of their kind." Loki replied looking Tony in the eyes but there was no real heat behind the words that he had just spoken.

"Well if you haven't heared yet, I am very well known for making stupid decisions." Tony stated proudly obviously joking.

"So you finally noticed!!!!!!" Rhodey exclaimed looking at his best friend with mock shock and a hand held over his lips, gasping.

"Haha very funny, Honeybear." Tony replied.

"We do still have to do our assignment tho." Rhodey popped their bubble.

"Oh shit! Yea that's true, so loki, are you planning to stay or are you gonna skedaddle?" Tony made a shooing motion toward the god.

"Very well, I shall excuse myself for now. I will visit sometime soon again." Loki informed and vanished in a mist of Green energy/magic.

"Wow." Rhodey began. "So that happened." He turned to look at Tony.

"Jup, that just happened. And just a disclaimer, this ,' he loosely gestured to where Loki just stood a moment ago, "is going to be the most normal thing you see in the future."

"Well... I'm hyped but not hyped for the future then!!" Rhodey exclaimed with a funny expression.

With that, the two best friends started up on their project for the week.

They were in the midle of the project when Tony started speaking again. "We'll probably have to go on a mission together soon."

Rhodey startled. "Wha-. Oh yea future. So what kind of mission and how soon?"

"Well about a year and a half. And we're going to have to apprehend a certain winter soldier." Tony explained nonchalantly not even glancing his way.

"Wha-Wait. Did you just say winter soldier??? Like THE Winter Soldier? The ghost story of the deadly enhanced assassin??" Rhodey gaped at his friend.

"Well yea, not much of a ghost story if you know him and that he's real. He's actually James Buchanan Barnes, Captain Americas be-" He couldn't explain much more because of Rhodeys surprised shriek.

"JAMES BUCHANAN BARNES?!?!? How is that dude even alive?!?!" He asked incredulously.

"If you'd let me finish." Rhodey rolled his eyes. "He's a POW, after the fall from the train he was captured by HYDRA. He survived the fall because he was injected with a version of the super soldier serum by Arnim Zola while captured. They started brainwashing the dude and robbing him of his persona and choices, which Imma tell you, it's really fucked up. They keep him in cryo-storage inbetween his missions, and you know the rest." Tony finished, sucking in a deap breath because he was talking nonstop.

"Bro tha- that really is fucked up. But why do we get him in a year and a half and not now?" Innocent sweet Rhodey asked.

Tony winced at that but knew he couldn't avoid explaining this to his best friend. He had been thinking about it a lot during his time back in his past.
