Chapter 32: Reminiscing

[ Glory – Line Canyon ]
Saturday before sunrise, our usual party of five was already grinding our levels together in several dungeon runs.
My character Grand Caster has just recently made it to level 31 and it was already in level 30+ where gaining experience became a little harder in Glory. Since I am already level over 30, there is one summoner skill that became available for me once I reached level 30.
[ Fire Spirit (30)
• A skill that enables the user to summon a Fire Spirit. Fire Spirit’s attacks have a chance to Burn. ]
Once I have hit level 30, I also immediately learned the skill and increase its proficiency and mastery by the use of the skill points.
Before deciding on becoming a summoner, I studied the information provided by the glory forum about the summoner class.
There weren't many things known about the summoner as it wasn't one of the most popular classes. Going on the glory international forum, I didn't also find much to my disappointment.
Just some guides telling how the summoned should consider carefully choosing where to invest their points on their summons and spending on the free class restriction skills from other mage classes.
Without our summons, the summoner class would be left defenseless.
It was the truth. It was sad to say, like most of the mages, summers are vulnerable to high damage attacks. With our summons gone, we don't have any other way to defend ourselves just like the other mages.
And don't ever forget the cast time for each summons. But even though it was like that and I couldn't help but sometimes because of my problems as a summoner.
I can't also help but feel a feeling of satisfaction. I didn't play to make things easier for me. That's why I didn't choose the other mage classes and choose the summoner.
I wanted a challenge.
Other than that, even though, I am always a supporting role in the dungeon runs, and that PK Guild war because of the Wild Boss Blood Gunner Yagg, I am enjoying playing Glory.
It was familiar but at the same time wasn't.
Familiar because of the RPG games that I played in my past life, new because there are several features and people that I have discovered and met because of this game.
" Why are you standing there like an idiot Grand Caster?! "
Suddenly, Cross Knife interrupted me in my reminiscing. Even though I was interrupted, I wasn't feeling annoyed. His familiar attitude was already giving me a sense of fondness.
He just acts like that. But I am certain that Brother Cross Knife is a softie.
I think that he was a tsundere.
Twilight Rose, our resident deceiver is right.
" Well, I am just glad that I have met you, everyone! "
" You... "
Cross Knife trailed off as his avatar stopped moving for a few seconds before I could hear his voice again.
" .... Tch, let's go now and grind our level Idi– Grand Caster. "
" Okay! "
" Hurry up! "
" Hey, can I call you Brother Cross Knife? "
" What is that for? "
" Well... I just want to call you Brother. And you are older than me. "
" How can you say so if you didn't know my age and met me in real life? "
If my past life is considered, I am a 3rd-year high school student when I died. But in this life, I am younger than you since I am just a primary school student.
" I am certain! "
But I can't say those things to anyone since it was my biggest secret.
Following, Cross Knife we entered again on the Line Canyon Dungeon while Moon Ziqin and the others are already waiting for us.

Yesterday on Friday, before we hit level 30, The name of the dungeon that we went to was Desolate Lands which was suitable for level 28-30 players. It was a dungeon that was a castle made as a hideout by the bandits.
The common mob monsters were of course bandits. Rare monsters are named elite bandits and the rarer monster is called Avila's guards.
Avila is the first boss monster of this dungeon. She is a thief class monster and her traps were a pain to deal with. But with guides already in the glory forum and Moon Ziqin and our inputs put together, we have successfully dealt with her in the end.
Then followed by Avila is Alder who was Avila's older brother. Alder is a hybrid of Thief and Ninja Class. With the combined trap skills from the two classes, he was much harder to deal with than Avila.
Lastly, there was Toya who was the last boss of the Desolate Lands. He consists of many low-level skills from the different classes. Moon Ziqin and Twilight Rose who was playing for at least more than 1 year have called Toya an unspecialized class.
A jack of all trades.
Jack of all, Master of none.
Eventually, after Toya, after 3 repeated run on the desolate run dungeon yesterday, we encountered the only hidden boss of the dungeon on the 5th run.
Shade was what the hidden boss was called. A mysterious person beneath the robes. Shade wasn't its name but what it was called. The monster was a hybrid between Night Walker Classes and when it enter the berserk state, Shade's true form was released.
Shade was revealed to be a dark spirit possessing an ordinary person as to its backstory. They joined the thieves because being with the thieves gain him access to eating emotions of fear from the people that the thieves were robbing and killing.
Today, after the Desolate Lands dungeon yesterday, we have been doing several dungeons runs on this dungeon called Line Canyon. It was a dungeon suitable for level 30-33 players. And as implied by the name of this dungeon, the dungeon is a canyon. A deep narrow valley with steep sides. If we fall into this place, we instantly die.
