Chapter 34: Muramasa or Masamune?

Within the glory forums, there was another video featuring the members of the conquering clouds again. This time, Burst Blood was thankful that he wasn't the featured one in the video that was caught on by a random nosy player but the 8th server guild leader of the Samsara Endless.

The video featured the guild leader and the vice leader of the Samsara being killed by a Berserker named Cross Knife, The Summoner Grand Caster, and the Guild Leader of the Conquering Clouds Storm Conquest.

Now other than earning the ire of the 8th server guild leader of Blossom Valley, the conquering clouds have earned the ire of Samsara's 8th server guild leader and vice guild leader respectively.

They also manage to steal the Wild Boss drop of Cliff Ronin Alpine.

And now, the Conquering Clouds was laying low again much to the annoyance of the Blossom Valley and Samsara.

[ December 16, 2020- Wednesday ]

Returning home from classes this Wednesday, I instantly went to play Glory after being helped to change my clothes. The past two days Monday and Tuesday have been a very hectic schedule for me.

Even though I decided to not join any competition at the school at the start of December, I ended up joining various competitions for the past 2 days. Thankfully, the venue of the Competitions is our school which was in charge of primary school competitions this year.

I ended up joining Chess, Go, Story, Poem, and Singing competitions. 5 out of 7 competitions that Miss Du recommended to me during the first week of December.

There weren't any rules against participating in various competitions so that's why I can join all of them.

I ended up in first place in Singing, Chess, and Story Contests. I was 2nd place both in Poem and Go.

While I have earned various trophies for our school, judging by the various ugly faces of the other school principals while our school principal and Miss Du were celebrating in the background, I have a premonition that I wouldn't be able to join the various competition around next year which wouldn't bother me at all. I'm glad if it would happen.

Back to the Glory, my character Grand Caster was already level 33. With this level, I have gotten another milestone and unlocked two new skills for my summoner.

First is the Fire Spirit Summoning Spell which is available to unlock once you reach level 30 of the summoner class. Fire spirit skills as the name suggested would allow me to summon a fire spirit. The fire spirit summoned attacks to have a chance of inflicting burn status on the living target of the attacks.

The Second skill that I was able to unlock was Ice Spirit Summoning which is available to unlock at level 33 of the summoner class. As suggested by the name, this skill allows me to summon an ice spirit. The ice spirit summoned has a chance of inflicting the freeze status with its attack on the living target. Also, successful targets of the freeze attack would become slow and their speed would greatly be decreased resulting in those targets being vulnerable under attacks.

After logging today this afternoon, I decided to get used to my new skills and practice them by killing mobs. I have no plans in going with the others today. Storm Conquest and Yue Ziqin are occupied in Conquering Clouds while the others are helping. On another hand, Cross Knife had mentioned in the QQ chat that he would go to Arena.

An arena is a place where players in glory could challenge each other. In other words, it is a PVP.

On another hand, I also informed Storm Conquest, Yue Ziqin, and the others about why I wouldn't be able to help them today.

For one I want to do the quest that I have activated the other day. On Sunday, after we defeated the wild boss Cliff Alpine Ronin, I returned to the NPC Feudal Blacksmith. After turning in the quest, a question from the NPC popped out.

[ Muramasa or Masamune? ]

At that time, I was confused so I decided to go to the Glory Forums about the quest. I discovered from the Forum that the question would decide your reward.

Choosing Muramasa would give you Tokugawa's Katana (Muramasa) while choosing Masamune would give you Tokugawa's Katana (Masamune). Both of the swords have similar attributes.

The players said that regarding their choice, it doesn't matter as both of the swords were just the same with a different names.

But staring at two names, I can't decide the two. For the Glory to use the name of the two famous Japanese blacksmiths, the quest shouldn't be so simple.

Eventually, I delve deeper into glory forums and manage to find things on some advice on how to uncover hidden quests which have a very low chance.

After reading the info about it, I have gone to the wiki in search of information about both Masamune and Muramasa.

While I was doing those, I left the turn-in quest window hanging.

When it hit the one-hour mark, an unexpected thing suddenly happened.

Quest Description:

The Feudal Blacksmith hates indecisive people. Give a good reason for not choosing Muramasa or Masamune.

Create a Muramasa and Masamune-styled sword: Silver Equipment

Quest Failure would result in the player's reputation towards all of the Eastern Inspired NPCs reaching negatives.

Just thinking about the quest completion requirement, made me regret not just simply choosing like the other players. Failing this quest is very horrible but the conditions required are very difficult.

Glory Gods, do you think it is easy to create Silver Equipment? I haven't managed to create Silver Equipment for myself. Damn it!

After complaining, I continued killing the mobs and collecting the common materials from them for experimentation and attempting at making silver equipment.
