March 11th
Huaze Lei
Rushing up to the front door of Ah Si's house, one of the house keepers opened the door and I went straight for the living room where I'd hoped Faye and Ah Si would be.
As I was driving my cousins and Mr. & Mrs. Calinao, I received a message from Si about Faye having some pain and was now not feeling as well as she was earlier. Without alarming Faye's parents, I dropped everyone off at my home before heading off to see Faye.
The phone call to his house consisted of Ah Si explaining what happened and how his gift turned out to make Faye frustrated and upset which led her to having a bit of breathing problems and pain whenever she over exerted herself.
As I entered the living room area, I looked around by the couch and the kitchen area to not see them anywhere. One of the house keepers pointed towards the pool and I nodded making my way towards the opened doors leading to the pool.
Stepping out, I see Ah Si had his back towards me and beside him seemed to be Faye. I walked over feeling worried for Faye. As I approached them, Ah Si looked up and he let out a sigh of relief to see me. He sat up straight as I kneeled in front of Faye to see her eyes glossing and her skin a bit paled. She seemed to be experiencing some discomfort. I gently placed my hand to her cheek and her eyes focused on me.
"H-hi," she spoke shakily. My thumb rubbed her cheek and her shoulders relaxed slightly. It ached for me to see her feeling unwell.
"Are you alright?" I asked softly.
"I'll be okay," she said and reached for my other hand to hold. "I'm okay. I just... upset our little one. They weren't happy about my fear and anger."
"Fear?" I questioned and looked towards my friend with an eyebrow raised, not happy to hear she was feeling afraid at some point while she was here.
"I tried to give her the gift," Doaming Si spoke.
"What gift?" I asked unaware.
"He was trying to do something nice," Faye spoke softly. "He didn't mean to make me upset and worked up like this. He wanted to make amends." My attention turned back towards her unsure if we should reschedule the party.
"Will you be alright for the baby shower today?" She squeezed my hand slightly and hummed.
"Today," She smiled. I smiled at her as the sudden mood changed and she seemed excited to find out the gender. "I'm really excited, Lei."
"Me too Faye. We should head over then. Everyone is at the house."
"Okay," She nods. "I have to use the restroom." I nod, helping her to stand. She excused herself before making her way inside. I turned to Ah Si with my arms folded having mixed feelings about the gift.
"What did you gift to her?"
"Her violin," Ah Si answered. I looked towards him unsure why he would have her violin. "From our high school days. I repaired her violin."
"Why would you have her violin?" I was confused. I knew nothing about Faye's violin needing repair. It seemed fine when we were rehearsing yesterday.
"Faye hasn't told you?" He questioned and for a moment looked unsure debating to elaborate more. When Ah Si realized I had no idea what he meant, he sighed. "I'm the reason she switched from violin to cello."
"What did you do to her violin?" I asked, beginning to realize, this wasn't something I wanted to hear. Hearing more about Faye's and her interactions with Ah Si in the past only angered me more.
