He let out a scream. He could already feel the blood pooling on his face and streaming down his cheeks. Was he... back?
He shot up looking around. He seemed to be hallucinating because everything was on fire. Everything was being swallowed with a bright orange and red flame. Not his own. His fathers.
Dabi let out another scream as it came closer to him. He kicked off his blankets and pressed his back against the wall. He felt a metallic liquid taste fill his mouth and he felt as if he was burning.
No. Not again. He didn't want to die just yet. Please god no. PLEASE! He said he would work hard to get better. He couldn't go out like this. Not now. Not while the others were in their rooms next door.
The fire seemed to mean nothing at all for him when he remembered he had promised to get better. He ran through the door as fast as he could no matter how much it scared him.
He dashed down the hall and banged on Compress's door. He needed to check if he was alive or if that bastard had come and murdered everyone he loved. He didn't believe that he wouldn't.
The door opened to a worried looking magician and Dabi lunged at him hugging him tight. His breathing was fast and he couldn't stop crying as the other tried to calm him down.
The man took Dabi inside and sat him down on his bed turning the lights on.
Dabis face was covered in a bright red blood leaking from his scars and it became apparent that a few staples had come loose when he had woken up.
Compress went to get the first aid kit while Dabi sat hugging himself on the bed in pure adrenaline filled panic.
He rocked himself back and fourth as he hyperventilated. Compress came back in sitting down with the first aid kit. He sat still long enough for the man to wipe the excesses blood from his face but it became apparent that it wasn't going to stop until Dabi stopped.
Compress put a gentle hand on the ravens shoulder and Dabi flinched jolting backwards in a panic. Too sudden.
Compress sighed before starting to speak softly to the one who was clearly in tears.
"Hey Dabi? I need you to tell me what happened." He said slowly moving his hand up to wipe the blood off his face again.Dabi managed to choke out a couple words before breaking down again,
"Night- nightmare..." he sobbed before hugging the other tight.Compress gently hugged back speaking to the male softly,
"Your ok, your safe here." He said patting Dabis back.Dabi choked on what seemed to be him trying to speak but couldn't get any words out and just curled into a tight, little ball.
Compress needed him to calm down or they were going to get nowhere, so he carefully neared him hugging him. Dabi buried his head in the man's shoulder in bloodied tears.
"I'm- im sorry I thought you were dead-" he choked out.Compress felt the man's breathing slow down and eventually come to a slightly ragged normal pace. He let go of Dabi for a minute and got out some wipes from the first aid to clean to blood off his dace,
"Come in Dabi carry on talking you know what to do." He said. The reason he'd said Dabi knew what to do was because they had been in this position to many times before to place. They knew Dabi had to keep talking to let his brain slow itself down from that panicked state.
Dabi carried on talking to him about everything. Sometimes he would trail off on leads that didn't matter but that was fine as long as he was calm.
By the end of it Compress had completely sorted out all his loose staples and cleaned the majority of blood off of his face only leaving a slight red tint on his cheeks and around his scars.
Dabi laid down in the others lap sighing with relief when it was over. He laid there just talking to him, rambling on about everything and nothing until it was sunrise.
It was two in the morning when he had come in but now it was around six thirty and they were both tired. Compress got up taking Dabi into the main room and letting him sit with him incase anything happened.
Dabi laid his head down on the others lap,
"Don't think I have then energy for today..." he mumbled snuggling into him.
"That's fine dear, you can just rest if you would like." He ran his hands through the ravens hair.Dabi nodded relived he was safe again, he didn't like his nightmares.
Dabi closed his eyes moving his head up to rest on Compress's shoulder listening to his light breathing. He let out a small yawn and the other gave a huff,
"Go to sleep Dabi. I'll be here when you wake up, don't worry." He said detangling the ravens mess of black hairDabi nodded steadying his breathing bad falling fast asleep.
