The Next Archer

Chapter 13

The two got into Artemis's bran new car and drove off towards the middle of Star City where she drove them to the Big Belly Burger, a small burger shop that team arrow constantly got take out from and have a good talk or meeting. It was the place that Diggle's past brother's wife worked part time between jobs.

"Here we are, i bet you don't get much greasy foods, you know being-" "Wealthy and such? Actually you're wrong i have fast food constantly like a few times a week but thats cute you think that i don't have any life out side of Wayne Industries" Dick said smirking at her as they walked in and sat down in a window booth, him across from her.

"So.. does this count as a date?" he suggested looking back at her smirking lightly as she glared at him and rolled her eyes looking away "I will just take that as a no..." he laughed to himself and sighed as they waited for the waitress to come over and he looked at his own hands and sighed as it seemed like forever.

Finally the waitress came over "how can i help you two" she said smiling at the two and Artemis face palmed her self "She doesn't like people referring to us as being together because we totally aren't" Dick said smirking at the woman covering his hand over his mouth in her way and talking in a whisper.

"Oh okay, what would you like" she smiled again and looked at the blonde "I will take a cheese burger, fries and a small Dr. Petes, thank you" Artemis smiled and the two women looked at Dick while he started to go through the menu himself and tried to think of someone else than Artemis.

Artemis on the other hand couldn't stop thinking about him either, she would blush at some of his comments if she wasn't so well trained in hiding emotions so well it was kind of crazy so she didn't understand the feeling. She had never felt this way before and the blonde didn't know what to do with these unwanted emotions that she was suddenly having every time she was around him,

Dick Grayson, and Artemis didn't know what she would do about it to her self at night she stayed up punching the hell and emotions that she had bundled up but this let out of steam almost wasn't enough and she had to do something about it before it got a lot worse and out of hand. Now that Artemis figured out that she had found a small interest in the billionaires ward, she started to scold her for being so stupid, she knew it was possible that her emotions might get even further out of control but she didn't really care.

Dick ordered then the two sat in a comfortable silence as they tried to think of something to talk about but at the time nothing came to mind as they sat there almost quietly and thought about the future and the time they had together.

"Ugh this is really stupid, this silence, so Dick, whats it like being the ward and heir of Bruce Wayne?" Artemis asked looking up at him with curious eyes and he looked at her "Um, well he isn't around much but i go by on my own easily and im not really bothered by it much Alfred takes care of me pretty well so im not too alone during the day"

He stretched out and tried to think of something else to say "How did you become his ward?" she said expecting him to say adoption like the right way but thats not what happened anyways.

[ Flashback ]

Dick who was about seven or eight years old sat on the edge of the platform of the trapeze bars as he watched his parents going through their normal routine, he thought of them like two birds in love, it was simply amazing to watch John and Mary Grayson go through their morning making each other smile in a way that people only dream of having in their marriage.
