The Next Archer

Chapter 3

Artemis said looking at Felicity then at Oliver “do you know her? Does she come to visit often or was it a one time thing?” she asked hopefully knowing that Canary was the only kind trainer in the league of assassins, something she did not sign up for personally.

Oliver and Felicity exchanged wary glances and this didn't escape the young archers eyes “What..what happened to her?” she started to ask but Felicity turned away “Sara is dead?” she asked blinking her eyes and looking to the ground 

“Did you know sara?” Oliver asked curiously 

“Not personally but i spent over a year training from her and seeing her around the league of assassins data base as my sister left and came back with her ledger” Artemis said looking to the floor in shame “but i didn't know she was dead..”

Oliver got up off the ground and off the mat patting Artemis’s shoulder comfortably then walking over to the mini fridge and grabbing an icepack and putting it on his side “thats enough training for today Artemis, get some rest, its late”

Artemis nodded and went over to the table and grabbed a towel putting it over her shoulders and sitting down in Felicitys chair as Oliver went up the stairs and the IT girl watched him. Felicity looked down at her purse and grabbed some stuff before picking up her back and putting it over her shoulder. 

“Felicity, do you trust Oliver?” Artemis asked spinning in the chair, Felicity stopped walking and turned around “With every fiber in my being, I trust Oliver with my life” She said the without another word left.

Warehouse on the pier

“Felicity i want you to bring up stats on the vertigo sitings around Starling City, i think i just came across a lab that doesn't look too good” Oliver said poking around in a box filled with syringes and vials “Artemis keep an eye out for Count Vertigo, or anyone at all, this is not a safe place to be” he said through the com to Artemis that was on the lower level of the building itself.

“Mkay, I’ll keep my eyes open” Artemis said back as she jumped onto a table and looked down into the boxes so she could watch her back either way.

“Oliver it looks like the substances in the vials are a new spin off of vertigo being sold in the Glades as well as downtown Starling and just made an appearance in Central City a few days ago in critical care, it looks like this new vertigo isn't to kill but its addicting and will make the supplier a very rich man or woman” Felicity said as she took the properties of the area and the known facts about a ‘new’ Vertigo

“Okay, Artemis i want you to grab a few vials from one or two of the boxes and come meet me downstairs so we can get some lab work done to see what we are up against” Oliver said grabbing some and  putting it into the bottom of his quiver before hearing something behind him, and he was suddenly tackled to the ground.

The man on his back pressed him against the ground harshly, shoving his head onto the ground, Oliver grabbed the mans left arm and threw him over his shoulder onto he ground and rolling over onto his side and stood up around the same time the other, drugged man got up, finally Oliver got a good look at the man and saw that something had happen to the mans appearance, as in he looked barbaric. He bared his teeth, and in his right hand held a dagger. He ran at the Hood and raised the knife and Oliver barely got turned around fast enough to catch it but it slipped and went into his side, the archer fell to the ground preparing to take the first life out of his side. Before the man could attack the Arrow with another knife, a green arrow went through the mans arm, digging deep into the bone, he then kneeled onto the floor holding his arm tightly.
