Subject 9

Part 2:The boy

Her hands did not feel like they were burning though, then a shrill alarm went off, a scientist hit a red button to set it off her hands were still on fire so she stuck them out and everyone backed up then she started running down the long hallway, she saw guards down the hallway and ran into a random room it looked exactly like hers before the guards noticed her. Inside was a boy who she guessed was sixteen sitting on his bed and looked very startled. Luckily her hands went out. He looked like he was about to yell so she quickly ran over and put her hand over his mouth. 

"Please you have to help me escape" Nine whispered quickly, she slowly lowered her hand and backed up. 

"Don't you think I've tried, there's no way out." said the boy. "Where did you come from, and who are you?" he continued. 

"I'm Nine, that's what Dr.Stone told me. I came from somewhere called the testing room." She said, 

"Why are you here? The boy asked. 

"Something in my blood." Nine said 

"No, why are you here in my room." He corrected 

"Oh, I escaped that room" Nine explained. 

"How?" He looked shocked. 

"I felt really angry and then all of a sudden my hands were on fire and then I-" She was cut off all of a sudden the two men that took her from her room came in plus one more the two dragged her out. The other man stayed in the boys room and Nine yelled 

"Help me!" but he did nothing. The men took her back to that room but there were four men guarding the door. They sat her on that chair again but put special gloves on her hands made out of fire resistant fabric, in case they lit on fire again. All the scientists were still there but they kept their distance and she saw that Dr.Stone was there and she approached Nine and asked 

"How did you do it?" 

"What?" Nine asked 

"Your hands, how did you make fire." She asked impatiently 

"I don't know, I felt very mad and they just set fire" 

"Nine, follow me we are going to a different room." 

"What about our tests?" A random scientist questioned, 

"You can wait." snapped Dr.Stone, she walked out the room and Nine followed with three men behind her. She followed Dr.Stone down the hallway to the room she ran into after she escaped. The boy was just sitting there staring blankly at the wall not even acknowledging the people who just walked in. 

"Five," Dr. Stone called. Five turned around and looked at them and was startled to see Nine standing there. 

"Do you recognize this girl?" Dr.Stone asked the boy 

"Yes." Five replied "You know she escaped and ran into your room to hide." 

"Yes," Nine didn't want to get Five in trouble so she blurted. 

"It wasn't his fault, don't get him in trouble for something I did, he didn't try to help me escape, he just asked me a few questions." 

"Is this true, Five?" Dr.Stone asked 

"Yes, she ran in here and I asked what she was doing and where she came from." Five explained "What did she tell you?" Dr.Stone asked 

"Something about her blood and her being able to make fire'' The boy told the doctor 

"What! That was top secret information." Dr.stone snapped 

"I-Im sorry I didn't know." Nine stammered 

"Isn't that why we're both here we're both freaks with special powers being treated like lab rats so you can get your precious information and you won't even tell us why or our real names!" Five fumed. Dr.Stone looked stunned; she just stood there and said nothing. 

"What does he mean? We both have special powers and lab rats. What kind of lab is this?" Nine demanded 

"Take her to her room and leave her there. I will talk to you in a little bit." Dr.Stone demanded the men grabbed Nine again she was getting sick of this and then Five stood up and ran to her but Dr.Stone grabbed him told him to stay "Nine, don't take her" 

He pleaded then all of a sudden he collapsed onto the ground and Nine saw a needle in Dr.Stone's hand. Nine felt the same rage she felt with the scientist and realized her hands were on fire and she took off the gloves and burned the guards just enough so they let her go. She rushed over to Five sticking one hand out so the guards and Dr.Stone will stay away. Nine shook Five to try to get him to wake up "What did you do to him!" Nine yelled walking over to Dr.Stone but the guards grabbed her again. She fought against them until she saw a doctor walked in with a needle

"The more you struggle the more this will hurt." The doctor said and started moving the needle towards Nines neck.

"No, no," she said and she felt a prick in her neck, then all her efforts ceased. Her legs felt weak, all the worry and panic was gone. The last thing she saw before losing consciousness was the guards dragging her down a hallway.
