Subject 9

Part 14: Aaron

 "Whoa, calm down, we are not here to hurt you." Five said 

"What's up with fire over there." A girl no older than twelve said who had soot on her hands and clothes so did the rest of the kids. 

"Nine can you put your fire away." Five said to Nine 

"Fine, but they need to put away their weapons too." Nine said and stopped her fire and the kids lowered their swords. One kid stepped up and Nine guessed the leader of the group was a boy with short hair eighteen maybe, Nine guessed. 

"What are you doing here and what do you want?" The boy said 

"I'm Nine and he's Five. We escaped a lab. We both have powers and we were just walking and found this place. What are you doing here?" Nine said 

"We are here preparing for the alien attack. I'm Axel." Axel explained 

"Did one of you have the dream too?" Nine asked and a boy stepped forward about her age. 

"I did, about the alien and the attack in five months. Did you understand the language?" The boy said Nine felt so happy she reached forward and hugged the boy Five felt a pang of jealousy. 

"Yes, I did. I'm glad someone understands." Nine said, 

"Wait, what are you talking about?" Five asked 

"Oh, I forgot to tell you I had this dream about this cave of aliens and this one was saying something about an attack." Nine explained, 

"And you just forgot to tell me this." Five said a little annoyed 

"Whatever, can we focus on this right now." Nine said 

"Fine." Five muttered "

So you guys are down here making weapons to fight?" Nine asked 

"Yeah, we found that steel is the most effective against them and we make a lot." Axel explained 

"Here" Axel said and handed Nine a sword. 

"Is steel a good projector of heat?" Nine asked 

"Yeah, by the way I'm Aaron." Aaron said the one who had the dream Nine channeled the heat from her fire into the sword and saw a dummy. 

"Mind if I?" Nine asked,

"Not at all." Aaron replied Nine gripped the sword and Aaron walked over and adjusted it. Five was getting annoyed at this guy but Nine walked over and swung it at the dummy chopping its head off then swinging it around again, she moved with grace Five and everyone else watched in awe and she chopped the dummy to pieces when she was done the dummy was smoldering and her sword was glowing with heat. 

"That was fun, do you think I could keep this? We've had a few encounters with aliens before and it could be useful?" Nine asked. Aaron looked at Axel. He nodded, 

"Sure, if it gets damaged, come back and we can fix it." Aaron said 

"Thanks, and by the way do you have some paper and a pencil?" Nine asked, a girl brought some over it and Nine pulled out the map and made a quick sketch and circled their house. "When you guys are ready for the fight, come by here and get us, maybe we can help." Nine suggested 

"Okay, we will." Axel said Nine shook Aaron and Axel's hand and said goodbye. They walked back toward the exit and Five helped Nine up and Nine pulled him up without any struggle. Five looked surprised. 

"What, you surprised at my strength." Nine said as a joke and cracked a smile. Five just stared at her. 

"Why didn't you tell me about your dream?" Five asked 

"I dunno like I said I forgot to." Nine said "What was it about?" Five asked 

"About an attack the aliens are planning, look there's the store." Nine said
