Subject 9

Part 16: Jealous

Nine walked down the tunnel to the door and opened it. 

"Hi, is Aaron or Axel here?" Nine asked, 

"Both of them are in there." A girl said and pointed to a closed door. Nine walked over and opened the door. They both stopped talking abruptly. 

"Sorry, is this a bad time because I can leave." Nine said 

"No, what's up?" Aaron asked 

"Five found some blueprints for a sword and I was going to give it to you." Nine said and handed it to him 

"This just looks like random scribbles." Aaron said "

Yeah, you kinda have to come outside to see it." Nine said 

"Oh..." Aaron paused. "Okay, sure." Aaron said, Axel said

 "Are you crazy?" 

"No, but we should see this." Aaron said 

"Fine, but make it quick." Axel said and Nine and Aaron walked out the door to the tunnel. When they got to exit, Five looked down and said 

"What's he doing here." 

"To see it you have to use light." Nine said 

"Aaron can you boost me up?" Nine asked and Aaron gave her a boost and she pulled him up. Aaron stood next to her and she held up the blueprint. 

"Wow, that would be so cool to make." Aaron said and Nine handed it to him 

"It's yours." 

"Really, thanks when I make it you can have it" Aaron said

 "Oh, and I have something for you." Aaron continued 

"Okay, is it back in the forge." Nine asked 

"Yeah" Aaron said back and Nine jumped back into the tunnel when they got back Aaron went to grab something. He came back with a sheath but it went across her chest and the actual sheath was attached to her back. Nine put her sword in it. 

"Thanks, it looks great. Did you make this?" Nine asked, 

"Yeah, it looks great on you." Aaron said back Nine smiled 

"That's impressive but I should get going before it gets dark." Nine said 

"Okay, well I'll walk you back." Aaron said they walked together back to the exit. Nine hugged Aaron goodbye and he boosted her up. Nine looked over the edge. 

"Bye, let me know if you make that sword." 

"Okay, bye." Aaron said and walked back to the forge. 

"What's that?" Five asked, "It's a sheath Aaron made." Nine said excitedly 

"Oh, cool I guess." Five muttered, Nine rolled her eyes and she got the feeling he was jealous of Aaron. So of course she had to ask, 

"Are you jealous of him because everytime I talk about him or the forge you get annoyed?" Nine asked 

"Of course not why would I be jealous of him." Five responded 

"Okay." Nine said and they walked in silence the rest of the way back to their house. When they got there Nine got out her sword. 

"Are you coming in?" Five asked 

"No, I'm going to mess around out here for a little bit." Nine said and Five walked inside and Nine practiced swinging her sword around as if there was an enemy. Five watched from a window her brown hair flying around in the wind, her storm gray eyes filled with courage and determination. When Nine was done and she went inside it was dark she put her sword back in its sheath and set it by her bed. When she fell asleep she had another dream.
