Subject 9

Part 17: The Dream

When she fell asleep she had another dream. She was back in the cave but now there was armor and spears hanging on the walls. The big alien was still at the front this time it said 

"We are preparing for battle, we are working to make weapons against those humans who will stand no chance." The dream ended the same way the large alien charged at her. When she woke up she heard knocking on the door she put her sheath on and walked to the door. Right when she opened she pulled out her sword. 

"Whoa, it's just me." Aaron said 

"And I see you have a fan club, do you need anything?" Nine said, looking at two kids behind him with swords. 

"They wouldn't let me leave without coming but did you have that dream last night?" Aaron asked 

"Yeah, come inside they can come in too." Nine said as Five walked into the room. 

"Hi, why is he here?" Five asked 

"Oh, we both had another dream last night." Nine said and Five walked back to his room. Aaron and the other kids walked in. 

"Okay, so in mine they had a bunch of weapons and armor hanging on the walls." Nine said "Yeah, and something about like they were preparing for the battle." Aaron said 

"Well, we just need to be ready when they attack." Nine said 

"Oh, I brought Five a sword and both of you some armor." Aaron said and grabbed it from a boy standing next to him he handed the armor to Nine and she put it on. 

"Thanks, what is it made of?" Nine asked "The same as your sword steel by the way how's your sword working?" Aaron asked, 

"Good, I've been practicing a little bit and I got to use it on one alien." Nine responded 

"Cool, well do you wanna practice a little bit right now?" Aaron asked, 

"Sure, but let's go outside." Nine said and walked out the door and Aaron followed her. 

"Ready?" Aaron asked

"Yep" Nine said and they stood five feet apart from each other and Nine charged first. Aaron deflected her attack; he tried to knock her sword out of her hand but she dodged it. They continued like this for ten minutes when Nine knocked Aaron's sword out of his hand and brought her sword up to his throat.

"I win." Nine said and lowered her sword

"Where did you learn those moves? Are you sure you've never used a sword before?" Aaron asked

"Maybe I have, when I woke up in the lab I had no memories I couldn't remember my name or age." Nine said

"Oh, well then where'd you get the name Nine?" Aaron asked

"That's what they told me I'm Subject Nine whatever that means. All I have is a picture of my parents." Nine responded

"Well whoever they were they must have been pretty good swordsmen. Well we should probably get going or Axel will get mad." Aaron said and got his sword

"Okay, bye thanks for the stuff." Nine said and walked back into the house when she got inside Five was looking at the armor and the sword.

"Aaron brought that over for you and brought me some armor." Nine said

"Oh, whatever." Five said

"I can show you some moves with the sword if you want." Nine said

"What do you know about swords?" Five asked

"I actually just beat Aaron in a duel and he said I was pretty good." Nine said defensively

"Well, if Aaron says so." Five said mockingly

"What's your problem with him? What did he do to make you hate him so much." Nine said

"I don't hate him that much why do you like him so much." Five asked

"I don't but at least he's nice and isn't a jerk all the time." Nine said

"Fine, wanna settle this, let's go outside." Five said and picked up his sword

"Okay, but I'm not going to go easy on you." Nine said and started walking outside and Five did too. They faced each other and Nine went in and hit the center of Five's armor he stumbled and striked but Nine dodged. Nine striked his armor twice and he fell down. She put a foot on his chest and put her sword to his throat.

"Keep your balance and don't strike so quickly it is weak and predictable." Nine said and walked inside she felt proud and was happy that she won. When Five walked in, Nine was eating a sandwich and he sat down across from her and grabbed a sandwich. They stared at each other when Nine finally said

"Are you going to say anything?"

"What?" Five asked

"Oh, I don't know how about I'm sorry for being a jerk." Nine suggested

"I am sorry I don't know why I got so angry." Five said

"It's okay" Nine paused then she leaned in and hugged him. Then she stood up and walked to her room and studied the map to look for anything else that could be useful but didn't find anything. Nine laid down on her bed when she saw something outside her window. She stands up and looks out her window. She sees nothing and sit's back down on her bed. Nine falls asleep and she has another dream the alien leader said:

"They will fall into our trap to save their friend and we will rule. The boy has seven days to live and he will be our sacrifice to the leader and she will rise. Nine dream changed to a mountain where four aliens were standing guard and in back of them Five was tied up unconscious. She also saw a patch of dirt that had an alien head sticking out of it. She guessed this was their leader then the dream stopped and she woke up.
