Few days later

"Do you realize what you're saying Jungkook?"

The youngest lowers his head. "I'm sorry, Hoseok. But that's the truth." I bang my hand on the desk. Damnit!

"It happened in the past once. We just didn't tell you."

"So," I turn to Taehyung, voice hard. "Ria disappeared not once, but twice. You don't know where she is and you hide it from me the first time?"

Taehyung meets my gaze, registered to take my anger face on. Brave bastard. "We tell you know, don't we?" I tip my head, impressed by his boldness.

"Major Yoojin is with her. Both times. That's exactly why we lost track on her." Jungkook rushes to defend.

"We are having a meeting with Gaia today, as Nemesis and you really think that the Major will not be attending?" They drop their heads in defeat.

Few hours later, I realise the joke was on me. We agreed on a private room in a club. That wouldn't draw too much attention. And Eric was here. Alone. No Ria. No Yoojin. I look at my youngests. They still avoid my gaze, jaws clenching. I, at least, own them a meal.

Everyone seem to be at the edge of their last straw. Men stand on both sides, ready to take action, if needed. However, for a strange reason that doesn't click well with me, Eric is surpisingly calm and smiles like he just saw a lifelong friend. "Big Boss." He greets. "If I recall correctly this is the first time we ever met. Am I right?"

"I'm afraid we didn't have the chance." I lean back on the couch.

He follows my lead. "Right. Because that day, you were only kind enough to say hi to my dear student."

So, that's how he wants to play. "I didn't know who she was then, nor the connection with you." I grin my teeth. "I let her live. She was so new to all this. She was not a threat. Just an unfortunate meeting."

He looks amused. "Mhm, so was the day on Derek's ship, I guess." I jerk. Fuck. His smile grows wider. "And the ballroom, too." I stay silent. I don't know how to deal with this information. Ria wouldn't tell him. Would she? He fucking chuckles. The Commander of Gaia chuckles in front of me. "I don't need Ria to tell me anything, Big Boss." He titls his head. "Or did you really think you can only play games?" What Ria says? Peachie.

Ria

The night is pitch-black. Luna decided to hide from him. I don't blame her. I'm hiding, too. Raindrops run down my hair, soaking me through every inch of my already wet clothes. My boots sink on the deep mud, making it hard to keep quiet. That's what he aims to. The rain masks any sound, any living existance from me. I can't possibly hear him or sense him. But he can. And that's the problem.

That's the problem I couldn't accept when he pointed it out. A mission like this is supposed to be a piece of cake for me. But the asshole is right. I'm shaken. Literally. I shiver all over. How long has it been? Two? Maybe three hours? I don't know. I can't fucking tell.

I need to move. I stayed too long on the same spot. But where? The forest is familiar, but my mind isn't, lately. I take a step and -fuck- my foot cracks on a branch. It's over.
