When I woke up both of my arms were handcuffed to the rails of a hospital bed. I tried pulling them free but gave up before letting out a growl of frustration.

I sat there waiting for someone to come in, eventually, a female doctor came in with two police officers "Maya it seems that you passed out due to dehydration and overexertion" she said.

"Okay, can I please have my hands free?" I asked sweetly.

"Sorry, policy rules that all inmates be cuffed in case they try to run," she said.

"Oh of course," I said with a smile.

"May I have time alone with the patient?" she asked, looking at the two police officers, they left the room while she sat down. "So I'm Dr. Heather Webber, if you don't mind me asking what were you arrested for?" Heather asked.

"Hello, I'm Maya Ray, but you already know that. I've been arrested for the murder of Karen Norris that happened 5 years ago, my trial is tomorrow at 2 and I'm hoping that justice will prevail and I'll be found not guilty" I said sadly as tears welled up in my eyes.

"That means you would've been 15," Heather asked, shocked.

"Yup, she was my therapist so they are trying to say that I opened up too much about my trauma that I was going through and that I killed her to keep everything quiet. But she was the only one that knew what I was going through and the only one that I trusted and it was really hard after she died" I said as tears fell down my face. I tried to wipe them away but because of the cuffs, I couldn't. Heather got a tissue and wiped them away for me. "Thank you," I said with a soft smile.

"It's not in my place to judge you but I don't think a sweet thing like you would've killed her," Heather said with a smile.

"I would never do that it's wrong and I've been rooting for the police to find the killer since the beginning as there's been a huge spike back then with 75 people dying in a 3-year span, a few of them were two of my friends, my foster parents, and my boyfriend," I said with a sad smile "I still hope that they find the killer because justice deserves to be served but because it happened so long ago I feel like they'll never find the killer. But based on the recent news the killer is back in Hackensack after being gone for 2 years, which is scary because me and my wife came here to spend time alone from her parents as they took me in after my mother died when I was 15. We were hoping to build our future together here but I ended up being arrested" I said.

"What's her phone number? Maybe I can call her so she can come to see you" Heather said.

"Really? Oh thank you so much" I said, "it's 043-2004."

"I'll be right back, I'll be able to keep you here for another hour as we rehydrate you," Heather said and left. I sat in silence waiting for them to come back, after ten minutes the door opened and Glenda walked in, and as soon as I saw her I smiled. It's so good to see her even if it's been less then 36 hours since I last saw her. "I'll leave you guys alone to talk," Heather said and left closing the door behind her.

Glenda came over and sat on the chair next to me holding my hand. "How are you doing?" Glenda asked.

"Better now that you are here," I said.

"What about your cravings?" Glenda asked.

"Well it's hard to ignore and it's definitely there which is kinda why I ended up in the hospital, I was feeling extremely antsy so I ran myself until I passed out," I said.

"You said you would be careful," Glenda said.

"And I am, I just couldn't sit still and I didn't eat lunch because Jake delivered it and I don't trust him," I said, defending myself.
