I woke up to Glenda shanking me awake, she was parked in front of the house "what time is it?" I asked.

"It's 6 am, you've been asleep for nine hours," Glenda said.

"I thought you said you were going to wake me up when you hit Florence?" I asked.

"Yeah, I decided I would drive the rest of the way, now let's head inside," Glenda said.

"Okay, I'll grab Carley if you got the bags," I said, Glenda nodded and we got out I gently picked Carley up as Glenda opened the door, and we headed inside I brought Carley to her room, put her in the bed and covered her up. Glenda put her suitcase by her dresser and we headed to the guest room, Glenda put our suitcase on top of the dresser, we closed the door and we crawled into bed I brought her onto my chest and played with her hair.

"Carley only fell back asleep about 20 minutes ago, she was up shortly after you fell asleep," Glenda said.

"Okay, you should probably go to sleep, you haven't slept much the past 24 hours," I said, Glenda nodded and closed her eyes, and fell asleep with her head on my chest. I played with her hair as she slept. I stayed there for a few hours before I got up and changed clothes. I put on a red dress and my boots before heading to the kitchen. It was 10 o'clock and everyone was still asleep, but I cooked up some brunch as Carley will probably soon be down. I grabbed two plates and put the eggs, bacon, and toast on them. As I was putting it on the table Carley came down and sat down at the table.

"Thanks," Carley said.

"Your welcome, how about later we go out to the park" I suggested.

"Okay," Carley said, and then it was quiet as I started eating, when we were done we put our plates in the sink, and Carley went off to do what she wanted while I cleaned up. When I finished with the dishes, I headed back up to the room we were staying in. I wrote a quick note and put it on my pillow letting Glenda know that Carley and I were going to be at the park and we'll be back by 2. I grabbed my toothbrush, toothpaste, and brush headed to the bathroom, and washed up. I went back to the room and put the items back into the suitcase before heading back downstairs. "Can we go now?" Carley asked.

"Okay," I said, we left the house, making sure it was locked before getting in the car, I made my way to the park that was a few blocks away. I pulled up parked and we got out and headed to the park, there were other kids there with their parents, Carley ran up to a few of the kids and they started playing. I was keeping Carley in my sight making sure that she doesn't hurt anyone or she doesn't get hurt.

"So you're here with Carley?" One of the other adults asked.

"That's correct," I said.

"Shame what happened to her parents," she said.

"It really is, we were good friends," I said.

"I'm Jenny," Jenny said.

"Maya," I said, shaking her hand.

"Do you live here?" Jenny asked.

"No we just came to get her things, we live in Hackensack," I said.

"Where's her doll, she usually never leaves it anywhere and she always has it with her wherever she goes?" Jenny asked.

"He's in Hackensack with my in-laws, we figured to have a small family road trip to bond and didn't want Chucky with us," I said.

"Why it's just a doll?" Jenny asked.

"I know that, but our car isn't the biggest, and with the extra things on the trip home I feel like there wouldn't have been enough room for the trip back," I said.
