"Why don't you hate me?"
---
Fuyumi followed Murayama silently as her mind wandered once again. The two are walking in the hallway.
If she wants to stop thinking about it, she should confront him. She knew they need to talk about this eventually.
"Earth to Yumi-chan~!" she was snapped out of her reality when she was met by Murayama's face just a few inches away from her.
"W-What?!" she stumbled backward and almost tripped but the male held her wrist and pulled her closer to him.
"You've been spacing out," Murayama told her in a hushed tone that sent shivers down her spine. Fuyumi hitched a breath as she tried to keep her heart calm.
"You okay?" Murayama asked as he looked at her with concern. Fuyumi just nodded her head.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she mumbled and gave him a forced smile. She breathed out and was about to walk past him when he stopped her.
"Yumi? What's wrong?" he asked. Fuyumi groaned and turned to look at him.
"Can we talk?" she asked.
"We're talking," Murayama told her as he referred to what they're having right now.
"Alone?"
"Oh, alright," he said. He held her hand and pulled her upstairs. They went on an empty rooftop. Murayama let go of her hand as he walked towards the edge and sighed loudly.
He turned around to look at her but Fuyumi kept avoiding his gaze.
"What do you want to talk about?" Murayama asked. Fuyumi sighed frustratedly as she ran her hands through her hair.
"Don't you resent me?" she questioned making the man in front of her frown.
"What are you talking about?" he asked completely confused about what was going on.
"About leaving you back then! I—I left you, don't you hate me for doing that?" The man stared at her, a frown forming on his face.
"I don't," he simply said.
"You don't?" Fuyumi let out a breath as she stared at him. How could this man not resent her for what she had done?
"Yeah."
"I left without saying anything to you," she breathed out as tears started to form in her eyes. "Why don't you hate me?"
"Because I love you." Fuyumi stared at him in shock. She was left frozen at where she stood as they made eye contact with each other.
