"So who's party is this?" I asked as we walked up to the front door. "It seems too quiet."
"Well," Luke replied, "it isn't so much of a party, more like an intimate gathering with alcohol." He knocked on the door and we waited in silence. The door opened and I almost died when I saw who opened it.
"Hey, Luke," Alex freaking Gaskarth smiled before giving Luke a 'bro hug'.
"Good to see you, Lex," Luke replied before they let go of each other.
"And you must be the birthday girl," Alex smiled at me. I swore I was going to faint.
I nodded dumbly. "I-Invidia," I stammered.
"I know," Alex chuckled. "Lukey here doesn't shut up about you."
I saw Luke's cheeks go a bright red.
"Well, don't just stand there," Alex laughed, "come in and join the fun."
Luke and I followed Alex inside to the kitchen where Zack Merrick was standing making a sandwich. "Zack!" Luke exclaimed.
"Hey, Luke," Zack replied with a smile, "good to see you man."
"Zack, this is Luke's friend Invidia that he's always talking about," Alex said, introducing me.
"Nice to meet you, Invidia," Zack smiled at me.
"Y-you too," I stuttered.
"Ignore her stuttering," Luke said, "she does that when she's nervous and considering you're one of her favourite bands she's hella nervous."
I nodded to confirm what he said.
"Anyway, where are the others?" Luke asked the two members of All Time Low.
"They've gone to get more alcohol," Zack replied. Just then Ben burst through the door followed by Rian Dawson and Jack Barakat yelling about something weird.
"Invidia!" Ben yelled. "You're here!" He then pulled me into a bone crushing hug.
"Bloody hell, Ben," I squirmed as I tried to get out of his grip.
"Did you guys drink all the alcohol on your way back or something?" Alex laughed.
"Almost all of it," Rian replied putting down beer boxes. He appeared to be the only sober one out of the three.
"Look, Alex, there's a pretty girl in your house!" Jack slurred making me blush.
"Yeah, Jack," Alex laughed. "That's Invidia, Luke and Ben's friend."
"They have attractive friends?" Jack asked astounded.
"How many drinks has he had?" Luke asked with a laugh.
"I lost count," Rian chuckled. "I was too busy trying not to crash with Ben climbing all over me."
"They're not going to last very long tonight," Zack laughed. "Do you want a beer, Invidia?"
"Yes please," I smiled. Zack grabbed out two Coronas, opened them and passed me one. "Thanks."
"It's cool," Luke said sarcastically, "I'll get my own."
"You're not a pretty girl," Jack said.
I could feel my face heating up.
"That doesn't mean shit," Luke grumbled as he walked over to the box himself.
"So, Invidia," Alex said, "tell us about yourself."
I shrugged. "There's nothing much to say really," I told him. "Just that I'm 21, I take Saturday morning Journalism classes and I've worked with Ben and Luke for four years and they never even mentioned knowing you guys."
"Really?" Rian asked. "They always talk about you."
"That's cos she's so much cooler than you," Luke teased.
"I don't know about that," I said, "they are All Time Low."
"But isn't this the best birthday present," Luke questioned.
"I don't know," I pondered, "going to Hogwarts would be pretty cool."
"You would, nerd," Luke teased.
"Hey, hey, hey," Alex interrupted, "there is nothing wrong with wanting to go to Hogwarts."
"Whatever you say, Gaskarth," Luke responded with a smirk.
"How about we just go join the drunk losers and have a drink," Rian suggested. We all agreed and went into the backyard with the beers. "I would offer you a shot," Rian said to me as we all sat down, "but the idiots lying face down on the grass drank them all and I'm pretty sure that's why they're so drunk."
"It's all good," I chuckled. "Besides, I kind of want to remember tonight anyway."
"Fair enough," Rian laughed.
"Invidia," I heard Ben muffle against the grass. "Can you kiss me, please?"
I let out a snort of laughter. "Dude, no, you're my boss and like 10 years older than me."
"So are a lot of your favourite actors that you say you'd bang," Luke reminded me.
"That's different," I defended myself. "I know that's not going to happen so it's okay."
"But it might if you met them and they're single," Alex joined in.
"Oh yeah, if I ever meet Jensen Ackles and for some unknown reason he's single why don't I just walk up to him and ask if he wants to bang," I said sarcastically. "Won't that just go down a treat."
"You never know," Rian smirked.
"Yes, I do," I replied. "Dean Winchester, maybe. Jensen Ackles, nope."
"Shut up about Supernatural, you loser!" Ben shouted. He had now rolled over onto his back.
"You wanted to kiss me two seconds ago," I laughed.
"Yeah, but now you're a loser!"
"Says the single, 31 year old guy lying on the ground," Luke called out, "drunk as fuck!"
That started us all laughing.
"So, journalism, aye," Rian said to me when we had all calmed down.
I nodded. "Writing and music are my two favourite things."
"Maybe you'll be interviewing us one day," Zack smiled making me blush.
"That would be awesome," Alex said excitedly.
"Yeah, well, who knows," I smiled.
We spent the rest of the night drinking and talking and in the end, looking after Jack and Ben who had both passed out after stealing more beer. Since Luke and I had both been drinking, we decided to crash at Alex's in the spare room.
