Chapter Nine - Coffee Shop Soundtrack

It had been a few weeks since all the drama with Luke. I was now single and Zack and I were getting a lot closer. I had also become really good friends with Amelia, Tay, Jenna and Ceneedra. The four girls and I had gone out to lunch to get away from all the guys and just have a girls afternoon. We were sitting in Starbucks, on Ceneedra's request.

"So when are you and Zack going to be a thing?" Jenna asked me.

"What about Tay and Alex?" I questioned, turning the attention off me.

"Been there, tried that and that is how The Best Thing came to be," Tay laughed.

"You guys seem to be really close again," Amelia mentioned.

"I do like him," Tay sighed, "I just don't want to go through the disappointment again."

"I can discretely talk to him if you want," I suggested.

"Only if you ask out Zack," Tay smirked.

"What about Jenna and Uncle Vic?" Ceneedra asked.

"Yeah, that wasn't working out," Jenna said sadly, "since I live in Australia."

"You and Vic were together?" I asked Jenna. "I've shipped that since you guys did the Hold On 'Til May cover together!" 

"Maybe one day," Jenna smiled sadly.

We all simultaneously picked up our drinks and took a sip.

"So, Cen, how's the baby?" I asked the youngest.

"Good," she smiled. "Calum's coming to visit next week and we're going to find out whether its a boy or a girl."

"I still can't believe you're not going to wait until it's born," Amelia sighed.

"Calum wants to know so he can buy things for it while he's on tour," Cen replied. 

"That's cute," Tay smiled.

"What do you want it to be?" Jenna asked.

"A boy," Cen replied happily, "but Calum wants a girl."

"I swear it's always like that," Amelia laughed. "Jaime and I were talking about kids and he wants a girl but I want a boy."

"I'd want a boy," I admitted. "Well, I'd want a boy first and then a girl."

"Same here," Jenna agreed.

"I'd just want one of each," Tay said, "no matter what order."

"I've always wanted an older brother," Amelia said, "ever since I watched Narnia and saw how adorably protective Peter was over Lucy and Susan."

That made us all laugh.

"Older brothers are alright," I said, "until they join the army."

"I didn't know you had an older brother," Amelia said.

"Not many people do," I shrugged. "I haven't talked about him since he left, until now that is."

"Oh, wow," Jenna sighed, "we're you guys close?"

I nodded. "He kept mum from being too much of a bitch to me."

"I know how that feels," Cen said. "That's what it was like when 5SOS moved in with me."

I opened my mouth to agree with Cen when I was interrupted by a familiar voice. "Invidia?"

I turned around to see my brother, Ethan, standing at the counter. "Ethan?" I asked in disbelief. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here with Mum," he responded, "why are you here?"

"Mum's here?" I asked, "she told me she had cancer."

"She's fine, why would she tell you that?" Ethan asked, confused.

"Cos the bitch was trying to trick me into visiting her four years after she kicked me out," I grumbled.

"She told me you just left," Ethan said.

"She got that half right," I mumbled. "Please don't tell her I'm here."

"Your secret is safe with me," Ethan smiled. "Now are you going to tell me why you're here?"

"I'm on Warped Tour with All Time Low," I told him.

"Isn't that the band you were obsessed with?" Ethan questioned.

I nodded. "I met them a few weeks ago and now I'm their personal journalist."

"That's crazy," Ethan laughed.

"And these girls are friends I made on tour, Tay, Jenna, Amelia and Ceneedra."

"I know who Tay and Jenna are," Ethan laughed, "my girlfriend is a big fan."

"You have a girlfriend?" I exclaimed.

Ethan nodded and laughed. "And a two year old daughter."

"I'm a fucking aunty?" I yelled earning a few glares from the older ladies in the shop.

"I'll bring them both to Warped tomorrow," Ethan chuckled. "I got the tickets a while ago and it's the only time Mum wont be around."

"Sounds good," I smiled back at him.

"Well I better get going before Mum comes looking for me," Ethan said as he grabbed his coffee from the barista. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"See ya," I said as he left the shop. "That was weird," I told the girls.

"You should've talked about him sooner," Tay joked.

"I know right," I laughed.

Later that day, I sat in the bus bathroom with a pregnancy test in my hand. I was a month late and frankly I was scared. I didn't want to be pregnant, especially with Luke's kid, not after the break up. I looked at my phone and saw the three minutes was up. I was too scared to look. Eventually I worked up the nerve to glance at the stick. It was positive. My stomach dropped to my feet. I couldn't believe it. I felt tears spring to my eyes. I had to get out of the bathroom. I chucked the test in the bin and hid it under old toilet rolls before running to my bunk. The boys were at sound check so I knew I could cry freely. Suddenly I heard the bus door open and footsteps walking back.

"Invie, you in here?" Jack asked. My bunk curtain was pulled back revealing Jack's smiling face, but his smile disappeared when he saw my tearstained face. "What happened?" he asked worriedly.

I shook my head. "Nothing, I'm fine," I lied.

"Invie," Jack sighed, "you don't have to lie to me. Do you want me to go get Zack?"

I shook my head again.

"Scootch over," Jack said. I did as he said and he climbed in beside me and gave me a hug. "Tell me what's up."

"I think I'm pregnant," I said quietly.

"Have you taken a test?" Jack asked.

I nodded. "It was a positive."

"How about tomorrow I take you to see a doctor?" Jack suggested.

"Not tomorrow," I said quickly, "I'm seeing my brother and niece tomorrow."

"You have a brother?" Jack asked.

I nodded again. "He joined the army when I was 13 and I never talked about him since."

"Okay, but I'm taking you to the doctors the day after, got it?"

I nodded. "Can you not tell anyone about this, please?"

"Your secret is safe with me," Jack smiled reassuringly.

"Thank you," I smiled back, "you're the best."

"I know," he smirked.

A/N: two updates in one day! I'm on a roll. so this chapter was plot twisty :P I added the video of Alex and Zack because it's the first time I've heard Zack singing on his own and I just about exploded especially cos I'm a massive Zack girl lol :P anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter (: I really like the Jack/Invie thing going on, it's v. cute :3 please vote and comment (: much love xx
