Looking at myself in the mirror, I pull at my jeans around the waist again, no use, too small. Too small? They've always fit me, why suddenly have I put on weight? In an instant I slap my palm over my stomach. No, it couldn't be, it was only one time, and we used a condom. And it was two days ago! No, I've just put on some weight.
Sighing, I drop them to the floor and grab my baggy pair of joggers I know will fit. I pull them up and leave the bedroom closet, in a hunt for Alex.
I hear his voice echoing down the hallway, coming from his office. I stand at the doorway as he replies to whoever's on the phone. When he sees me, his eyes light up in a way that makes my legs tremble with excitement.
I stand, watching Alex until he finishes up and calls me to him. I walk around the desk as Alex snatches me around the waist to him.
I nestle into his big broad chest as I snuggle down in the warmth of Alex's comfort. "Alex, can I ask you a question? But you need to be honest with me."
Alex pulls back to look down at me, "Of course, you'll always have my honesty, Rosie."
"Do you think I've put on weight?" I ask.
I watch Alex's eyes travel down my body perched on this thighs, he looks back towards me before replying. "Yes," He states and I go to open my mouth but am cut off by Alex. "But you've not gained weight for any bad reason Rosie, you are eating three meals a day here, before you were eating what? Two maximum?" He asks and I nod.
"Exactly," He continues, "And that was when you were eating. You've gained weight Rosie that is natural. This is healthy weight Rosie."
I sigh and sink into his hold even more, "I didn't think of it like that."
"I need to go shopping, my clothes that I have here don't fit anymore," I add.
Alex nods, "Why don't you see when Milly is free and my driver will take you both."
I smile at the thought of seeing Milly again and shopping, Milly's favourite thing. "Yes, that's such a good idea."
"Remember you'll need security, so make sure you tell me when you will be going out. Especially with everything about to happen."
I loose the smile as Alex gives my side a squeeze. "I have some more news, from Christopher."
"Oh really?" I ask hesitantly.
He nods, "He's still looking into your grandmothers will. I informed him about the recent developments with the case and he truly believes your parents had a part in making sure you didn't see anything that your grandmother left for you. With what's about to go down with your father, it will probably bring up more information about what they've done."
I let his words sink in. "I'm sorry Rosie," Alex whispers.
Shaking my head I reply, "Don't be sorry Alex, I told you what my parents were like. They have the birth right of being called my parents, but they don't mean a single thing to me."
