𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐭: A collection of short stories taking place in the Divergent universe and told from the perspective of Tobias Eaton, who Roth originally envisioned as the protagonist of the Divergent series.
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: Young adult, dystopian, coming-of-age.
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: This story is best comparable to the novel Divergent by Veronica Roth as well as The Maze Runner by James Dashner.
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: It was really interesting to see a different perspective of a story that practically raised my generation of book nerds. I love that several background characters were highlighted to some degree of importance -- even figures that only made an appearance once or twice in the original series and in the films. Four's rapid character development was a little hard to believe with my preconceived idea of who he was, but I had to keep telling myself that the Four in this novel and the Four in Divergent were written in two totally different ways with two totally different intentions. Really great read if you're a fanfiction writer on the prowl for lore.
