JaxI sat on the sandy shore, my fingers lightly playing with the grainy, wet sand. My feet digging under the moist substance as I sighed loudly, admiring the pink and blue sunset. The waves were crashing onto the shore, the wind smelling like pure salt. This really is heaven.
I stood up. My dark maroon, short skirt flowed in the wind as I began walking, holding my flats on one hand, while the other held a picture, his picture.
My father was, and still is, a cruel man. No wonder my mother left us when I was only 6. She couldn't take me with her, since he threatened us. Cody Woodley is his name; the name of a monster.
I take the picture and rip it up to shreds. I throw it in the water, hoping it would be caught by a riptide.
I stepped back and watched the picture go off into sea. The pressure automatically lifting off my shoulders.
"Hey!" A voice shouted from afar. I looked up, confused. Just there, a boy with bright, bleached hair came running towards me. It seems as if he dyes his hair often.
The boy was now right in front of me, and let me tell you, he was attractive. His pale skin was covered in stubble. His eyebrow piercing popping against his skin. He stood there, taking in my features. I then noticed I have been staring.
"Um, hello." I said and tucked my brown, wavy hair behind my ear. The boy finally realized I was talking and smiled.
"Hi." He said and continued smiling at me. I looked down uncomfortably. Why was he staring?
"Oh," he finally realized he was staring, "I'm Michael."
"I'm Jax." I said and fake smiled, feeling intimidated.
"Woah, I love your name." Michael gushed. I couldn't help the real growing smile on my face. I was starting to grow a bit comfortable around him, even if we've never seen or talked to each other before.
"Thank you. Is there anything I can help you with?" I asked him, wondering why he is even talking to me. Not that I mind.
"Oh right, I just wanted to walk around with you. I usually come here and see you, I want to get to know you better, since you're absolutely stunning." Michael said and looked towards the waves. I couldn't help the blush rising to my cheeks.
"Well, alright." I said and began walking in any direction I felt like walking in. Michael jogged to catch up.
"What's your last name?" Michael asks out of the blue as he finally catches up. I look at him dead in the eye.
"Why do you need to know?" I asked him.
"So I can know." Michael replied, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"I'll tell you, only if you tell me yours." I said and put one of my flats in my other hand. Michael sighs in defeat.
"Michael Gordon Clifford is my name." He says as he jumps over a sand castle built there earlier that day.
"Jax Primrose Woodley." I replied bluntly. "What time is it?" I added. Michael checked his phone.
"8:47." Michael said. I gasped. I was supposed to be home 40 minutes ago. I looked at Michael apologetically.
"I'm sorry, I have to go." I said. Michael nodded.
"When can I see you again?" He asked me.
"Tomorrow, sunset, this part of the beach."
