Jax

"I'll drive you, Jax." Michael said as he and I roamed around the beach at 3 am. I nodded. My dad will be asleep anyway, so why not? I followed Michael as he led me towards his house, which happened to be towards the end of the beach. The walk there was quiet, but a peaceful quiet.

"This is my house, my car's the gray one." Michael pointed out. I nodded once again - to tried to speak and walked towards the passenger seat. I sat down and shut the door while Michael climbed into the drivers seat. I snuggled up towards the corner as he started the car.

"I live on 288th st, the third house to the left." I said softly and looked at Michael - who held a confused expression on his face. I giggled, "Go straight until you pass Wal-Mart, and then take a left, my house is the big white one."

I re-explained. Michaels faced lit up in realization.

"Oh, well you could've just said so, J." Michael said as he began to pull out of the drive way. He plugged in his phone in the aux cable and pressed shuffle. A Day To Remembers, "If It Means A Lot To You." began playing. I hummed along to the song just as Michael did.

All to soon, I was in front of my house.

"D-do you want to come in?" I asked hesitantly. Michael nodded and gave me a small grin. I jumped out of the car with Michael following behind. I opened the door quietly, surprised seeing my dad wide awake, and chugging down on a bottle of tequila. I gripped Michael's hand. I turned towards him and shook my head, tears filling my eyes.

"I'm scared, Michael." I whispered shakily to a very confused Michael. Michael squeezed my hand in reassurance.

"Jax!" My father called out as he saw me standing there. My breath hitched in my throat. "You're finally here you little bitch. You've been sneaking out often, probably being the little whore you are."

Michael's hand tightened around mine. I looked up at him. He was fuming, his face red and his nose flared. He stepped forward, me following behind. Father chuckled seeing Michael now standing in the middle of the room; a few feet away from my father.

"Ah, I see you brought one of them. Hey kid, how was she like?" My father asked and chuckled before he took another drink from his tequila.

"Don't talk to her like that, or else." Michael warned, venom dripping from every word. His voice low and a bit raspy.

" Or else what? I can talk to her in any way I can. I'm her father and she loves me no matter what." My father spat and stood up from the couch. Interrupting what Michael was about to say, I scoffed, gaining a bit of confidence.

"I never loved you. Not after the way you treat me everyday." I said softly, "You are a disgusting man."

Father stared at me for a few seconds; emotionless, before bursting out in laughter.

"You think I don't know that? Wow Jax, I thought you were smarter. Wait, I take that back. You are the stupidest fucking girl I know." Father sneered, "You choose to stay with me after the way I treat you. You're weak. You have no future ahead of you. You'll end up becoming a stripper."

Michael lost it, and punched father. I gasped but knew that he did deserve it. My father collapsed on the floor from the sudden contact. I bent down to my fathers face.

"Jax.." My father motioned for me to help him. I shook my head.

"No wonder mom left." I whispered. His face converted into hurt. I stood up and walked towards Michael. Michael rubbed my back reassuringly and led me to his car.

There was a comfortable silence on the ride to his house, and that's what I needed at the moment.

Once we arrived, Michael led me to his room. There was no one else here.

"You live alone?" I asked as Michael handed me a pair of sweats and an oversized shirt. He nodded. I walked to the bathroom, which was right in front of me, and changed.

Once I was done, I went towards his room and saw him in his bed watching TV. He smiled sleepily when he was me and motioned for me to lay next to him. My heart was doing back flips as I laid next to him. He wrapped an arm around me, and I was internally dying.

He turned off the TV, leaving no light in the house, what so ever.

"I'm so sorry, Jax." Michael said. I sighed.

"It's okay. It's not your fault." I said and leaned in his touch, "overall, today was a great day."

Michael chuckled and agreed.

"I feel like I've been taken away to the dark side with all this darkness, but that's okay. As long as I'm with you." I said softly. Michael kissed my forhead and I could've sworn I melted.
