Leanna's POV

I rubbed my eyes as the sun came through the window of my hospital room. I sat up and looked around the room for JJ. He wasn't here. I got Kingsley out of her bassinet and opened the buttons on my shoulder so that I could feed her just like they had shown me how to do the night before. I rested my head on the wall and rubbed Kingsley's back softly as she ate.

"Hey, beautiful." JJ got my attention as he came through the door. He had a takeout bag in his hand. "You didn't eat for so long, I thought you'd want something better than hospital food." He put the bag on the little rolling table that was next to my bed.

"Strawberry French toast with extra bacon on the side?" I asked him and he smiled, nodding his head. He sat down in the rocking chair in the corner and sighed softly. "Are TJ and Melody at home?" I asked him as I fixed my hospital gown. I would have to take a shower and put on the pajamas that I brought with me.

"Yeah, I sent them home after Kingsley was finally born and TJ came back to pick me up this morning. We went home so that he could go home with Melody and then I drove here on my own. I think we are going home this afternoon." I handed JJ Kingsley so that I could eat the breakfast he brought me. She made little whimpering noises when she was being moved but looked comfortable once she was resting on JJ's chest.

"Can you burp her?" I asked softly as I adjusted myself to sit up against the wall. JJ nodded his head and started patting her back. "You can pat her a little harder, babe. She can take it." I smiled, loving how gentle he was trying to be with her. He looked apprehensive but started patting her back a little harder anyway. I could hear her burp softly twice and JJ kissed her little forehead.

"So, I was thinking." JJ started as he went back and forth between patting and rubbing her back. I looked at him as I started chewing my first bite. "It would be nice if her godparents were here in town. I was thinking of Melody and TJ." Kingsley rubbed her face with her little mittened hand, and it looked like JJ was melting.

"I was thinking the same thing. It is a clever idea." I kept talking as I snapped a picture of the two of them, not wanting JJ to know what I was up to if I stopped talking. I did not want to ruin the moment. Someone knocked on the door and it opened slightly. Melody smiled as she cracked the door open.

"Hey, can I come in?" She asked softly and I nodded my head. She stepped into the room and closed the door behind her with a soft click. JJ stood up so that he could give Kingsley to her if she wanted her. Melody hadn't held very many babies so I could see her stiffen up as she took her.

"Sit down, it's helpful." JJ helped to guide Melody to the chair and stayed by her side until she sat down. "Did TJ come with you?" He asked and she shook her head.

"Training camp started today." She looked up at him and gave him a slight smile. JJ was going to get to miss the next two weeks of training camp to stay home with me and Kingsley. JJ had wanted it to be longer, but I insisted that he not miss too much. I knew that I would have Melody there during the day and he'd still be there to help me at night. I wanted him to help bring our team to victory this season.

"I forgot about that." He mumbled softly as he sat on the edge of my bed. I rubbed his shoulder softly to let him know that I was here for him. He gave me a slight smile and I tucked some hair behind my ear. I could hear Kingsley making soft cooing sounds as I ate my breakfast.

"I am going to take a shower. Are you going to stick around, Melody?" I took a deep breath as I went to get out of bed. JJ was immediately at my side to help me.

"I can if it would make you feel better. I do not have work to do today." Even though she was nervous about holding her, I could still see the love she had for her niece in her eyes.

"It would be nice if you stayed. JJ, do you think you can help me?" I asked him softly, a blush coming to my face. I was sure that I was all gross in my personal business and JJ was my new husband.

"Of course. Whatever you need." He kissed my temple softly and helped me into the bathroom. "Whatever you need." I really was so, so grateful for him.

I was so happy when I got to take Kingsley home. We had to wait another day which was fine because I had still been recovering. JJ and I were going to have dinner tonight with TJ and Melody and ask them to be Kingsley's godparents. I had ordered them a couple of tumblers from a friend. TJs was brown and had a football on it and said, "Godfather to a Future Cheerleader" and Melody's was rose gold and said, "Fairy Godmother to a Pretty Princess." Melody loved Cinderella so I think she would love it.

"It's so good to be home." JJ stretched out slightly as we walked into the nursery. I smiled slightly as I took Kingsley out of the stroller. I put her down on the changing table and she looked around. This was the longest her eyes had been open. She was so curious. JJ stood behind me and watched as I changed her diaper. He had done it himself at the hospital, but I think he was still nervous about it. I zipped her onesie back up and kissed her cheek. "Do you want to get some sleep, sweetheart?" He asked as I walked out of the nursery.

"I'm okay, I just want to spend time with her." I smiled slightly as I went back down the stairs. Kingsley yawned and I think my heart skipped a beat. She was so adorable; I couldn't take it. I knew that I would love my first child, but I had no idea that it would be this much.

Melody's POV

I sat out by the pool, reading a book, and trying to get some sun. I chewed on my thumbnail while I tried to focus on reading a book. Milo was rolling around in the grass, trying to keep cool. He wanted to be outside with me, instead of in the house, even if it was a little warm in the Texas sun.

"Is it okay if I go for a swim?" A shadow fell in front of my face, and I looked up at TJ. It was his one day off and I'm pretty sure he had slept in late. I had heard him complaining to JJ how tired and sore he was all the time because of it. It had been two weeks since they brought Kingsley home.

"Yeah, of course. You're staying here, too." I gave him a slight smile and looked back down at my book. I could see out of the corner of my eye TJ taking off his shirt. I pursed my lips together and tried to focus on my book.

"Hey, Melody. Kingsley has a little bit of jaundice and I wanted to take a shower. Can she spend some time out here with you?" Leanna brought Kingsley out in her pram and there was a thin sheet over her so that the sun wouldn't hit her directly.

"Yeah, of course, Lea. Go, take some time to yourself." I smiled slightly at her. Leanna was tired, I could tell. She looked so relieved. "No rush. We're good here." I told her and she nodded her head slowly.

"Thanks, Melody. JJ's taking a nap, but if you need anything just wake him up. He told me you could." She headed back into the house and even her walk was tiring. I looked at Kingsley and she rubbed her face with her little gloved hand. I looked up at TJ and he was nearing the end of one end of the pool. I tried not to stare as his back muscles flexed when he moved his arms. When he came up out of the water and ran his hand through his wet hair, I looked back down quickly at my book before he could turn around. I felt my face heating up as I tried to focus on the page in my hands.
